Nah f**k the pub - I'll always drink in Snowy's pub or the Ninian.

Think we should avoid this Marston's pub as PMG are promoting it strongly. Another nice little earner for them with the land bought on the cheap from Mr Berman and HIS council. The %age of the sale value due to the council (£700,000) was deferred for 7 yrs to help CCFC to pay the HMRC, this money as we all know was not used for that purpose and had to be paid by the Malaysians eventually. This decision was not taken by the full council just the secretive cabinet committee after they supposedly did hurried due diligence. Although council members asked for a full debate this was refused by Mr Berman.

I agree, this will only line up PMG's pockets and I'd rather spend my money down the Neville and the Cornwall or any other pub around Canton than there.

I think you have totally misunderstood this new pub.Why do you think PMG will suffer from a boycott of a pub owned by Marstons? Surely only Marstons would.
The pub will have some impact on some existing pubs near the ground as it will be offering cheap matchday meals. It will also take away trade from the catering within the stadium itself , but that won`t hurt the club as that income belongs to Compass Group.
And , as Annis says above , it will not be a pre-match "drinkers" club as it will only serve alcohol on matchdays to people who are sitting down at a table having a full meal. So no impact on most of the pubs in Canton for those who like to have a good drink before a game.

KEITH,
I can name you several pubs in Cardiff that have imposed these regulations on themselves to help them get the license then as soon as they have it they relax these rules and eventually drop them completely. Can you remember the pub on the corner of guildhall place and st mary street that stated on their application that said they would only sell real ales and NO LAGER as lager attracted problem customers. They did this as the council had said previously that no future on-sales licenses would be issued under any circumstances
The committee of course fell for it and the pub opened. Within months they had neon window lights promoting all lagers, and the pub was sold for a fortune.
The council will of course rubber stamp this new application as they seem to bend over backwards to support anything to do with this whole developement.
Yes I know my boycott will not harm PMG directly but I feel they have profited enough out of our club and still are. Perhaps I am a twisted 62 yrs old but there you go

dont bother going coz Marstons have just opened up the Dragonfly in Merthyr and its a food and family pub which has table service only , so its not a pub as we know . More like a Harvester and not even close to an F and B's or indeed a Brewsters !
