You raise a very good point Martyn one we seem to be overlooking in all the doom and gloom.

Only Sheffield United Burnley and Middlesbrough have really made any sigifigant signings and so called big guns Ipswich have only signed Mark Kennedy.

Leeds and Norwich have added to their squads but nothing to write home about so on the basis that we have a better season injury wise (which we are due) then we should have the players to again challenge at the top end of the table.

In fact due to both Middlesbrough and Burnley having shit managers, a top two might not be out of the question.

Interseting that Sky sports website says that 80 players have joined Championship clubs so far , but I wonder how much upfront cash has actually been spent ?

On the first point, very few clubs ever pay everything up fropnt - makes business sense to spread the load.

The point about others not necessarily buying too many players is a false one. Other clubs don't have a squad of what 20. We've a good first eleven, after that, close to f**k all.

Injuries, suspensions, loss of form, we are screwed.

Suspect we'll see more deals overall soon given Prem teams have squad size limits now. Will be a fair few players released / sold as a result - and the limit obviously would force sales, driving fees down.
