Sorry, radical view here. But if there is CCTV of those City fans actually throwing punches and goading then surely they should be found guilty and have a banning order?

Sorry Ben, have to ask again. Do you have any proof whatsoever that this is the truth in every case. Sorry, but any person caught fighting should be found guilty and banned. Regardless of what you think of the police.

Although I agree the bans are to excessive. Doesn't hide the fact that some were caught doing it.

Personally I don't care if people want to have a ruck before or after a game. Just don't be stupid enough to do it where there's police presence or cctv and be man enough to accept the punishment if you get caught.

Also, don't start rucking in front of kids, families and normal fans. That's what hapened at Chelski. And it wasn't fair on the rest of the supporters.

Re: to every cardiff city fan arrested

I do believe outside Stamford Bridge there was hardly any police presence at all and it was Chelsea fans who just indiscriminately had a go at anybody , any age wearing CCFC colours . So what happened after that was totally inevitable BUT could and should have been prevented by the OB , they were told by CCFC supporters leaders well before the Saturday to let the City fans stay inside for 30 mins or so to avoid any confrontation , but did they listen ? Plus why did the OB allow so many Chelsea fans without tickets to gather in the area all morning before and during the game plus why didnt the local Police spotters pick up the dozen or so Wolves fans that were also milling about , wtf were they doing there other than to cause trouble ?

The whole thing smacks of police incompetence, Martyn

No point arguing with people who think they can justify what they did by putting the blame on the police. The police didn't make the Cardiff and Chelsea fans fight did they.

And just because I know it will wind up Ben, guess what career I'm looking at going into :D

See you all soon.

No, they didn't stop them fighting, that's true enough. But they did let 'agitators' congregate for no other reason than to cause trouble and, when they did, they didn't do enough to prevent them from causing that trouble. And there were some know troublemakers there that the police knew were there for no good. So, what did you expect people to do when they came under attack?

Oh I agree it was incompetant policing. The same as Newcastle the week before. And where you say what do I expect people to do when they are under attack.....are you saying it was Chelsea who started it all and Cardiff were just defending themselves. Didnt seem that way as I was walking out of Stamford Bridge and some "fans" were smashing things up.

I was seperated from my friends so jumped up onto railings as there was complete standstill with chelsea and cardiff wading into each other at the front. Some kid, no older than 10 was stood by me crying because he was frightened and was seperated from his father/friends. He didnt know what bus he was on on where the buses were. Do you think thats fair? Do you think the police can be blamed for that? Cos I sure as hell don't think so. I think the middle aged men who were stupid enough to start fighting amongst other fans where there was CCTV that were to blame for terrifying hundreds, if not a few thousand people.

you can work alongside Mr Potatoe Head and have the heads up on the known CCFC trouble makers

Seriously on the day the Police knew what was coming and in no way am I going to condone what happened , happen it did . Why didnt the Police stop the ambush in the cemetary plus the boys on the bus had to get off coz of the flat tyre , they didnt ask the Chelsea fans to attack them while they waited for it to be fixed did they ??? All the Police did was allow 1 or 2 big scraps and film it all on the video cameras . It must be like that most games at Stamford Bridge , so why dont Chelsea get bubble matches etc too ?

Re: to every cardiff city fan arrested

I got a feeling the Cardiff reaction was due to the attack from Chelsea fans, who were waiting outside the ground. I agree that what happened to the little lad was terrible and wasn't very nice for him at all. and I bet his parents were pretty upset, too. But, the bottom line is that the police could have organised this better, given the knowledge they had regarding the kind of people who would be there

From what I've heard, Martyn, talking to a few Chelsea season ticket holding good mates of mine, that was nothing like a normal saturday afternoon at the Bridge. It really is a prawn sandwich brigade there, but then the police knew it would be different that day so should have put measures in accordingly

The problem pre match at Newcastle was on the day the Geordies saw just about anybody in a blue shirt ( or a face from a book cover ) as fair game and a lot of bullying etc went on and in no way can the Police be blamed for that , NUFC should be ashamed of their supporters ! Not every single person who supports Cardiff is / was a Soul Crew member .

I do feel that when Cardiff come to town, every club has a turn out, just because its Cardiff. I think at Newcastle, it was purely Newcastle. Cardiff fans were defending themselves. Walking back to the CCSC supporters bus with families etc and Newcastle fans were throwing bricks etc at anyone.

But at Chelsea, both sets of supporters were as bad as each other.

Martyn

If I do become a copper, I won't want to police Cardiff games. Or just police on the grandstand or kids end  Wouldn't look good if I was policing outside the Ninian Stand with a load of people walking past going "Alright Han?"
