Perhaps because he knows if he does not get us challenging this season he is on his way so why should he care about our future?

If we get some decent signings in, it may persuade some of the players to sign deals before January. I wonder if that's what he's getting at.

The trouble is though Id imagine that those players with 12 months left are on mega bucks salaries and no way will TG / Jenkins offer them a substantial increase now , so what options remain ? Either sell them now or in Jan or allow the contracts to run down and save on " next season's " wage bill
