The Malaysians

Sat Jul 31, 2010 8:55 pm

Was told today they

- will continue to put money in
- won't be writing blank cheques, so don't expect any big money signings.
- are looking for 'partners' to invest
- have an interesting long term plan for the club
-TG has met the staff and pledged that the club has a future.

The club are bit by bit paying people who are owed money, but it WILL take time.

Guy and Hall feel they have done their bit and won't be investing in any major way into the club in the future.

Premier Club now almost 200 up on last year, and they are aiming for it to grow by another 150-200 in the next month or so.

Does it involve the unique activity of paying bills? :D

Yes mate. When they have to.

I also think now that it might not have been such a bad thing to have the tour cancelled.

They want to market City in Malaysia, it would not have been good going over there and trying to market the brand with all the shit thats flying around at the moment.

There will be a much better opportunity next year.

I so hope you are right on this one.
I do have confidence that they have the club's interest at heart. I cannot agree that pmg have done all they can though. They have profited greatly from the club and when they leave they will be quids in. If they thought that tiddlywinks would need a new stadium build they would become directors of that (or ice hockey).
Perhaps we would do the same if we were in that situation who knows?

We all have to have trust the Malyasians and hope they can get a backer on board soon to share the commitment they have so far shown.
We are so lucky that they came to us in our hour of need we must get behind them and trust them. At least they have got the riddler out who would have closed us down with no feelings whatsoever,

I know you say that premier club figures are up but surely that money goes to PMG.

Hi mate.

You may well be right about PMG making money out of the club. I don't know, I've never seen a definative figure regarding what profit or not they made out of the development. Don't forget Capital and Regional pulled out of it, so not sure how 'clear cut' this profit was.

They may also have had to take some big risks and put in a lot of work to do it. On top of that they nursed the club through, with loans etc.. now if as many say they don't love the club then surely they can't be blamed for trying to cover themselves, and get their money out (which they have deferred and agreed to a £3m drop in it - in return for shares).

The Prem Club money DOES go to them, but it will be used to pay the interest on their loan and also to reduce the loan in total, the more in the PC the quicker PMG will be paid up and that liability off the books.

Totally agree with you about the Malaysians -we appear to have struck VERY lucky with them.

We'd certainly have gone into admin and lost the majority of our decent players without them. We'd be starting with a hefty points deduction and facing league 1 in the face now - I wonder how many of our new fans we would have lost as well ?

yes Annis, but as mentioned above, the more that comes in the quicker they will be paid off, (which has to be a good thing) and the sooner that money WILL come into the club.

I have to say, that the set up in the Premier Club is really very very good.

I'm staying in the Ninian with my mates, but for those who prefer a bit of comfort its great.
