Heard yesterday that Peter Thomas, the owner of the Blues was trying to sell the old cardiff rugby ground. The athletic club who own part of it dont want to sell, but he is apparentley taking the semi-pro cardiff side from there to play at the athletic track oppersite the new stadium, to cut the athletic clubs finances, and force their hand.
WITH NOWHERE ELSE FOR THEM TO GO THEN, LOOKS LIKE WE ARE GOING TO BE STUCK WITH THE BLUES ON OUR PITCH FOR LIFE.

It's not his to sell.
It's owned by the Athletic Club, originally donated by the Bute family for recreational uses by the peoples of Cardiff.
However, it was always part of the masterplan to complete the Millenium Stadium and to build a 5* hotel next to it to achieve UEFA standards.
Taking Cardiff RFC away from the Arms Park is the second phase following the Blues move to our stadium. There will be uproar of course, but eventually it will happen.
Wonder if PMG will be involved?

This has always intrigued me.
The whole Arms Park area, incuding most of the Millenium Stadium was left to the people of Cardiff as stated earlier.
How the hell did it become part owned by the WRU?

This has been my understanding of the situation regarding the Arms park aswell. With regards to the WRU involvement, wasen't there also a problem with the Millenium Stadium built on land owned by B.T? They are all in the Masons if you ask me!

Indeed there was and I believe that the WRU still owe BT millions.
The true ownership of CAP and land around it would be interesting to find out.
Methinks the WRU and the Taffia in general stitched up the Bute donated land and "stole" it.
I could be wrong of course but wouldn't it be fun if all that land (worth countless millions) actually belonged to all of us, as citizens of Cardiff?!!!!

I was told six or seven years ago the Peter Thomas, allegedly, offered to buy the Arms park site for £2 million [who too i don't know]. A valuation commisioned later put the real estate value at £30 million plus,,,, six years ago. I was told this information from Blues season ticket fans.

If I'm correct that the Marquis of Bute did donate all that land to the people of Cardiff then there should be some legal document stating this stored somewhere.
If the land has subsequently been given to, or sold to, any individual or organisation then I suggest that that transaction would have been illegal.
It would be fascinating to find out, although I suspect the WRU, Taffia, etc. would close ranks and cover this up.

Well, best not shout it too loudly.
People might wonder what happened to the covenant over the Ninian Park land...

No covenant over the land that housed NP.
The land was given to our club to build the stadium, with the leasehold held by the Council.
It was the site of a rubbish dump. Quite apt seeing some of the crap I watched there over the past 40 odd years!!!
There was no stipulation or covenant on what the land could have been used for.
All the above is in the public domain. The only underhandedness would be in relation to Redrow/PMG/CMB.

Don't Barclays have something to do with Cardiff Arms Park?
