why should we when I for 1 have paid out £399 for my season ticket , I buy a prog each game , always buy a new shirt ( when they are out ) plus have a cpl beers inside the stadium . You multiply all that by 5 then thats my contribution for all the time that Ridsdale was here , remind me how much HE put in ? ? Besides its been mentioned on here by Gwyn that a gesture towards the running of the Acadamy would be far more benefitial , dunno what happened to that idea ?

I bought my season tickets (4) when requested and duly got a price freeze for 5 years. I would be more than happy to forfeit this price freeze if it was to help the club eg show current board that we support the clubs efforts, help with bringing in potential further investors by showing that season ticket money will still rise year on year (although a capped rise of no more than say 5% per year).
what are your thoughts ?

I am lucky i only have to buy for myself as my Boy doesn't like football. I'm sorry but we are all paying for vastly and obscene amount of wages the players get. They just dont seem to have hunger any more as money is the be all and end all. You have players gambling obscene amounts of money because they can afford to throw it away.
Yes they should be handsomely paid but not to the amounts they get paid, take for instance Joe Ledley a very good player but not exceptional but he is earning 28k a week. Not Joe's fault he isn't going to turn that down but football as a whole is wrong.

At the very heart of this though is Sky. Although the standard of their productions is exceptional and they moved sports broadcasting into the 21st century in the mid-90s, they have to foot the blame for alienating proper football supporters for the sake of armchair viewers, especially the scheduling of some matches. OK for us who want to watch Portsmouth v Bolton on a saturday lunchtime, not so great for the travelling Bolton fans. But, if it wasn't for them pumping billions into the game, players wouldn't be so obscenely paid. Of course, they have every right to have a cut of the rewards clubs are reaping for a product that they are producing, but if billions weren't spent by sky, the players wouldn't be able to ask for the money they are currently getting

Where would you put a Club's fans in this economic equation?
Matches without fans in the stadium would be an interesting concept although, one suspects, doomed to failure. Are football Clubs merely a product to be consumed by supporters short of a few marbles? I have long considered switching my allegiance to Heinz baked beans, Renault cars or Ferragamo footwear. Some of us are getting tired of the commercialisation without due respect to the fans who are the only reliable constant. What will it take for fans to draw a unified line in the sand?
