People say Koumas isn't what he was 5 years ago

Lets remember he single handedly got West Brom into the play-offs the season after he left us (06-07), he was their player of the year.

He then had his move to Wigan.
We signed Chopra based on his performances in 06-07 and he come up trumps last year when we re-signed him, there's nothing saying that Koumas won't be the same.

he was good whenever i saw him for wigan, not sure why he never cut it there but whenever he has been at this level he has ripped up the league. its so easy to jump on the 'he's past it' bandwagon but class is permanent. In the space of 24 hours, we've signed three players (including heaton and drinkwater) even though we are up to our knees in debt and under an embargo. all the 'financially secure' jacks have to show for their summer though is a some guy from aldershot so why are people come up with negatives. a week ago we would have taken any signing to be honest

Koumas always played on the left for Wigan.

Anyway, i rarely saw Gomez in the Wigan team towards the end of the season.

Roberto likes to play central midfielders wide at times, he did it with Orlandi who was pretty ineffective out on the wing and the one thing Sousa got right was playing him central. He chopped and changed with Gomez though, one game out wide the next behind the striker.
I wouldn't be suprised to see Gomez on his way in January.

With Daveys arm firmly around his shoulder, we will get the best out of him I'm sure. He's the kind of player who needs to be loved (Bothroyd too) I think we will see the same form we did a few years ago.
