The Difference Today Was -

What happens when a team who have had a poor pre season play a team which has had a good pre season.

Without the sending off I believe that Sheff Utd would have won the game, overall they were clearly sharper and better organised than Cardiff.

However after the sending off Cardiff dominated and we saw the undoubted quality in our squad start to show through, give it a couple of weeks and we will be flying I have no doubt about that.

I hope our Board remember this close season as the perfect example of how not to run a football club, DJ has had to prepare this team against a background of cancelled pre season tours, transfer embargos and players being paid late.

Our board must realise that the close season and pre season are vital if the team is to reach the first match fully tuned, this season we are not, no fault of DJ or the players.

Having said that the board have kept their promise of keeping the squad together, Joe apart, a few additions now and after the September international break we will be ready to go.

I for one cannot wait.

I thought we were the better team through most of the game not just after the sending off I thought Chopra was punnished a bit harsh he did nudge the defender no worse that was going on all game and thought the ref was poor by being so slow to award the free kick as he should have stopped it much sooner.

I do think after today we have a good chance thought Mcnaughton was great plus young drinkwater did well too
