They could be competing with a few championship clubs for players including us.
We might actually be able to out bid them on wages.
However they'll probably offer a decent bonus to stay in the premiership
I wonder if they are in talks with Naylor and Koren to name but 2.

They are bringing at least 5 players in today according to my mate whose source is from the local rag. Koren and Naylor not on the list. Sinclair is top of the list. Big connection between Sinclair and Ollie.

Sinclair still off to Gyposville according to The Evening Rag together with one of our rumoured targets Caleb Folan.

Folan is okay at this level. Sinclair is a player who has flattered to deceive.

Have to laugh at that report with Ashley Williams showing himself up with his arrogance. We have dominated against Pompey, Fulham and Brum. Whoopy f*cking doo. Keeper to defence to midfield to defence. YAWN. Stick your passing football up your arse Ashley you cock.

Excellent signing for them and someone we could well do in our ranks. I know it's a while ago and he's fallen off the radar somewhat since, but phenomenal potential http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007 ... outhargyle.

Definate potential but 6 goals in 70 league games is hardly prolific. He is also more of a right sided attacker like Dyer and Cottrell. Will lead to disharmony in ranks. Hopefully!

He's fast and someone we want to link up with our fullbacks in the 4-3-3 system we play. We are going back to the attacking style of a few season ago it seems with fullbacks overlapping wingers, hopefully that will give whoever plays up front some decent service which is something we really lacked last year. A striker is on the cards as well but it's not Folan.
An initial £500k for a 21 year old ain't bad business :ayatollah:

Be better to watch-however it means your clean sheets record will disappear. Also 2 years ago you had scotland who got 20 goals. The only player in yr squad who could get near that is Dobbie.

That's the danger about 4-3-3 Wilts, as it opens us a little and we would have to maybe sacrifice some of the defensive solidity we got last season. If Rodgers can get a balance of some sorts by retaining our defensive strengths whilst at the same time being more offensive then he will have found the magic formula.

I have a feeling that Jenkins would not trust Sousa with more money after his signings record (Kuqui, Beattie, Lopez) - Cotterill probably his best signing and the jury is still out on him! Still Sinclair at a bargain price as a first signing I'm quite happy. Hopefully this will signify the end of Butler and if this new guy Augustien proves a hit then Gowers days will be numbered!

You have a strange squad imho. A few very good players like rangel, de vries, williams, pratley, bodde plus some real hot/cold players like dyer, sinclair and cottrell plus some utter dross like tate, beattie, gower and butler mixed in with lots of young players and some unproven foreigners like serran, van der gun and pintado.

Your biggest problem will be if you dont score goals, the crowds drop (7k season ticket holders wasnt it??) and a large squad of 30 or so. The transfer market has gone very quiet and if things dont work out you will have to sell one of yr better players.
Also a big squad can cause problems with team spirit.

Team spirit has never been a problem at Swansea even with a big squad we make full use of it. A few will be going in January I would imagine, the like of Collins, Butler and maybe even Pintado. The important thing we have is that the team are young and hungry. I think there are only about 5 players over 30! The players all want to be competitive and to have options in midfield like we have then that can only be a good thing. If someone is not 100% committed then he is out.

Our crowds can't get worse than what they were under Sousa we averaged around 14-15k. A new manager and new players also brings in the crowds either through season tickets or match day walk ups. I can't see us selling one of our better players (it looks as if Pratley is signing a new 3 year deal) but I can see a fair bit of deadwood getting trimmed in January and the end of the season.

I disagree about Tate being dross. He can play anywhere in the back 4, central midfield if needed and even in goal (he played over an hour v QPR and kept a clean sheet), I can understand you don't like the guy, but he's a legend down west for his commitment and loyalty.

I forgot to mention Joe Allen. A quality player for his age, not quite Aaron Ramsay but a real prospect for Wales. Some good young 'uns you have in Wales. Darcy Blake too a good prospect.

You obviously missed the other Derby games then  Last Ninian park game with Joes super long range goal then the penalty, The 2-2 at the liberty, The 1-0 in the cup. And finally the classic 3-2 at the liberty. Both sides played great football. :D

But the last game we were playing with low morale under a coach who had lost the dressing room and who had weeks earlier thrown a public tantrum because Huw told him to f**k off when he gave him a list of players he wanted to sign and would get no cash from him.

So if he'd lost the dressing room why didnt Huw the Spew sack him?
