TG requests meeting with Sam Hammam

Tue Aug 10, 2010 12:31 pm

TG has requested a meeting with Sam Hammam, which should take place within the next 7 to 10 days.
This could be a very positive move concerning the clubs financial position, and the subsequent acqusition of new players and keeping the star names we already have.
Also PMG want £2 million pounds paid back by the club by September 01st 2010 and Ray Ranson wants approx £500,00 paid back regarding agents fees for certain players. :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

common knowledge that TG wants a business partner on board so hopefully this could be good long term news regarding that or maybe a meeting to sort out Langston once and for all ? :ayatollah:

Either of those subjects would be cause for celebration as long as TG remains in charge. He's certainly made a lot of progress in less than 3 months :ayatollah:

The problem with all this good news is that, as a long suffering supporter, I'm just waiting for the bad news

I do share some concerns on that score but TG hasn't made many mistakes in my eyes so far so whatever he thinks is a good idea gets the thumbs up from me  :ayatollah:

Totally agree, I am glad that we have a chairman who does not parade around looking like an idiot, no disprespect to Sam but people always knew he was an idiot from his wimbledon days, I for one am proud to have TG as out chairman.

TG I Salute you.

Yes, the idiot that took a Southern league team to the Premiership for many years and also won the FA cup final, what a clown.what does he know about football.

And ill remind you what he did to cardiff Shall I ???????? Listen im all for sorting this debt and maybe getting someone on board to front the ship whilst TG is away, however Sam and Ridsdale made us look a right joke. Some of the stupid and un professional ways they fronted the club was a joke. The way they used future revenue, without even thinking about the long term was

With TG he gives me a lot more confidence in what he is trying to do, and maybe just maybe we will have a club that we can be proud of.

We have PMG who unquestionably waltzed into Cardiff City like a vicious moneylender
turning up at the door of a single Mum, offering to 'feed the kids'... then systematically
stripping the wardrobes, the beds the chairs, the wallpaper off the walls and even taking
the benefit book in return.

then we have Sam.. and there are still questions to be answered, though nobody could
doubt he genuinely has an affection for Cardiff City.

However, if TG brings him back, and its to the benefit of the club, then TG's judgement
will be good enough for me, and I daresay the WHOLE truth will out!!

If TG looks into the input of brian as a player and as an ambassador of this clu then anything is possible.

Lemme remind you what Sam did for Cardiff. Took us from third division to first, started planning new stadium construction, popularised Ayatollah and beat Leeds in the most thrilling match I've ever seen. I think when Sam left we were like 20 millions in debt, right? And look where are we now. TG is surely a GREAT man for our club but Sam did much more the club than just ruining it financially. Seriously, these guys should just stfu, Sam would be a perfect guy to have on our board as long as he doesn't work on financial side.

When Hammam took over Wimbledon, they'd been in the league, from memory, two seasons. First season, promoted to what is now League One, second season relegated.

Wiki is editted by well anybody. hence most academics don't touch "facts" with a bargepole. EDIT: And wikipedia says no such thing, by the way...

Hammam was involved - as I believe a director - when they came up from non-league. He only took over after two seasons in the league.

let's not whitewash things - Dario Gradi had a massive, massive impact on both Wimbledon getting into the league and the youth setup.

perhaps. Wasn't a fan before Hammam. But that's what I remember the most from his reign.

From the league records it seems Hammam took over in 1981 when Wimbledon were in the old Fourth Division. They were eventually promoted to the old First Division in 1986 which is quite some achievement.

Like it or not. Under Sam Hammam WIMBLEDON won the FA Cup
and played top flight football for years with shockingly low crowds.

Also... like it or not...

Without Sam Hammams input here, we would be bottom flight or worse
now, still playing in a falling apart stadium with crowds of 3000.

He got us to the brink, fucked up, but the wolves were already circling.
The minute he said he had no interest with a ground share his days were
numbered. Rugby rules. End of. He had the rug pulled from under his feet
from every direction. No way was the CCS going ahead without some
assurances that 'Rugger' was safe in the Capital.

I'm staying non-commitall re: Sam coming back cos i suspect there's a hell
of a lot of shit going to get dug up over the next couple of months, and he
may well come out of it ok!

So for what he DID do for Cardiff City... im reserving judgement!!

Totally agree, I am sick to the back teeth with the very name Sam Hammam, thanks for the memories Sam (good and bad) but lets pay him/Langstones off or reach some form of comprimised payment deal and hear no more about him.

He`s had is time here, its now time to move on. IMO

I will trust the judgement of TG, in my opinion he has done a wonderful job so far, and i am sure there are a few more Malaysian rabbits to be pulled out of hats yet.
