Rossco to join Ipswich tomorrow

Wed Aug 11, 2010 10:43 am

Ross is in Ipswich currently and discussing terms over his transfer to Roy Keane's side.

I have heard the deal is slightly less than the 500k plus Stead suggested.. although Stead is still coming as part of the deal.

Unless theyre valuing Stead at over a million, I believe Ipswich are getting the better end of the deal by far. We saw on Sunday that Ross can have an impact and is another option for us.

Ross is young though and has served us well but wants first team football. I would like to wish him luck at Ipswich :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Ross needs a change, I think the difference with Ross coming on was that Whits moved into the central role. I like Ross but he has personal issues that tends to effect his football too much, I hope Keane can sort him out because he has the ability and I wish him well.

Yeah, good luck to him. I can't help but have some sympathy for him. He was doing well up front with Jay until Chopra came on loan and he was shunted out of his preferred position and the team. I also can't help thinking that, to a certain extent the team as a whole was a little unsettled by Chops' arrival

That move would see Stead coming as cover for Bothroyd which then leaves the possibilities of Keogh and Ward to fill in the gap left by Mc Cormack ? :ayatollah:

DJ has already said that Ross will be in the squad tonight so doubt he is in Ipswich at the moment.

Shunted out?

Ross scored 23 - take penalties out of the equation, scored as many in open play as the prolific Bothroyd.

Chops got 20 last season with some lengthy barren runs.

Ross may want to play up front - well, his managers in Scotland disagreed, playing him wide - but he sure as hell ain't a natural goalscorer.

Chops, even when not scoring, gives more all round effort.

Ross is a good player, unfortunately...as much as I like him, he's a spoilt brat who throws his toys out of the pram when he doesn't get what he wants.

Perhaps if he wasn't swigging alcohol when driving and gorging on pizza's, he would be ahead of Chops in the pecking order.

Personally I would keep Mc Cormack and try to get another target man and forget about Stead :ayatollah:

At Motherwell he played as a winger in a 433 not wide midfield. His few games at Rangers were up front.

He was capped for the national team in midfield though.

The Sky Sports News one liner began as, "Cardiff striker Ross McCormack holds talks with Roy Keane over move to Ipswich".

It now spans two pages and has grown to, "Cardiff striker Ross McCormack holds talks with Roy Keane over move to Ipswich. Ipswich to include Jonathan Stead in the potential deal for McCormack".

i like ross but i think he needs a change , it's a good deal for the club and the player in my opinion, he'll never take chopra's place in the team chopra is a far better striker.
