Possible incentive for Bellamy

Wed Aug 11, 2010 11:20 am

It's quite frustrating to see Bellamy still talking about moving to Cardiff as a possibility, but not saying anything definite. The main reason he's cited for the possible move is that his family all live here. He also said he was very disappointed to miss all their birthdays last season. If I was in talks with Bellamy, I would check when all these birthdays were, look at the fixture list, and say, look, if you were with Cardiff, the following games are all home fixtures (for example), so you'd be able to be with them, or if their birthdays don't fall on a match day (more likely), you'll be in Cardiff anyway. It's just the small simple things like this that, if you're holding discussions, are going to make him consider his decision. The money is obviously going to be another thing, but I think Bellamy is going to have to accept we're not going to be able to pay him full whack. But surely he shouldn't be too greedy? A pay cut in exchange for the chance to play for his home town club when he's in the later stage of his career is surely not such a bad thing. And both sides know how good it would be for the club, in terms of giving Cardiff a much more realistic chance of promotion, and bringing revenue in via shirt sales, etc.

i honestly dont think he will need much persuading, we all know he wants to come its just a matter of his wages, i think as carl said last night if it is really true about this cardiff business man willing to pay his wages then its just a case of how should we welcome him to the ccs. Boy i hope i am right! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
