Yet they think they're the next big noise in the world of the football hooligan. Thing is, to us older lads, they just look stupid

I sat there where my usual seat is on my season ticket... Yet I was surrounded by kids shouting abuse at the away fans and making racist remarks towards players...
One boy, probably about 12 was shouting over asking some of the away fans outside, saying 'Cmon you black c*nt, let's go outside and i'll rip that black skin off!'
IMHO this is ridiculous, why is it that young kids feel the need to make attempts at being hooligans? They were outside smoking too, kids as young as 10 having fags!!
Anyone else see this?? Comments??

There was this kid about 12 at the oldest and he was dressed in all the gear and thought he was rambo or someone.
PS: Fish, the kid I am talking about was in front of you. I was about 4 rows below you.

The pontypridd Muni was a war zone on a friday evening & there used to be everything from queer bashing to so called Paki bashing. Football offs were for real with literally hundreds involved .Agreed there's some rotten to the core now but i think the violence was a lot less verbal then.

The difference between the 70's and now is that we didn't have any fences or stewards between us and "them", just a few coppers, we were literally 10-15 ft apart, if you wanted "an off" then you normally got it.

You have an excellent point there MB. In the early 80s while up watching the Man City game the supporters on that bus chucked bananas at a black couple walking besides the bus. that was 28 years ago.
In the 70s was the skinheads, read the reports from the Man U game that was about 36 years ago.
So lets put this in perspective we wasn't angels in our youth and we done ten times worse in our era. So much so what happened last night would of been nothing in fact we were a lot lot worse.
Yes in today's politically correct ways you cant do that but we can not hold the moral high ground with our generation.
We are sounding hypocritical SORRY.

Two good posts, I don`t agree with any form of racial abuse, perhaps its up to us older City fans to educate them, on this having a word etc. I would always listen to the older heads in my teenage years (very distant now addmitedley) But a bit of banter between fans and posing etc, come on we were all young once. Has for fighting among themselves this was quite usual behaviourat Ninian Park in the 70`s.
