SAM/TG MEETING - NOT TRUE

Fri Aug 13, 2010 10:34 am

I have had a recent conversation with Sam, he is very well and enjoying life in Lebanon. He is up to date with what is happening at City and we spoke of our recent signings ( JK and OJ ). Sam believes that we need to strengthen the spine of the team and that OJ signing completed our midfield but now he says we need a centre half, back up striker for Jay and a left back. It is amazing that when I was talking about players we had been linked with Sam give me a run down of each players career, considering he has been out of football for such a long time he still knows his stuff.

During our conversation I mentioned to Sam about a recent post ( see below ) that TG had apparently requested a meeting and that it will take place soon, Sam is not aware of any meeting nor has he discussed any future meetings with TG recently. Sam is remaining patient to afford TG the time to get on with dealing with important issues that need dealing with in the immediate future. There are many obstacles for TG to overcome before he can deal with Langston but I just want to put the record straight that as at this time no meeting is taking place or has been arranged to take place.

TG requests meeting with Sam Hammam

Post by blueboys » Tue Aug 10, 2010 1:31 pm

TG has requested a meeting with Sam Hammam, which should take place within the next 7 to 10 days.
This could be a very positive move concerning the clubs financial position, and the subsequent acqusition of new players and keeping the star names we already have.
Also PMG want £2 million pounds paid back by the club by September 01st 2010 and Ray Ranson wants approx £500,00 paid back regarding agents fees for certain players.

Carl!! this is encouraging, cos despite what Sam has/hasn't done right/wrong at Cardiff City
this at least proves he still takes a keen interest in the club and the team. Whereas the twats
who turfed him out are only interested in what percentage of incoming revenues they can take
out for themselves!!!

Carl

There is so much for TG to sort out and so far he has not dissaopointed. I am glad that Sam sees the need to give him time to sort out the situation.
Whatever decision TG makes I will back him 100% and genuinely believe he will do the best for our club.
Not so long ago we were all very worried that the club would fold and TG has brought us back from the brink. We have strengthened the team but really feel on occasions we the fans are expecting too much from TG. He has to get this club on a sound financial footing so we dont have to go through this situation again

I think even Stevie Wonder can see we need a new centre half and Sam is correct to point that out , but why cant Jones see it ??? :ayatollah:

Clive a lot of fans think that TG can wave a magic wand and all the debts and worries will be gone, it is not the case. Each time there is a debt to be dealt with there is plenty of negotiating to be done, now that the taxman has been satisfied for the time being, there is the small matter of strengthening the squad. Then at the end of the month the wages need paying again ( who will pay them this time ? ), then PMG need sorting with regards to the £2million that they are due on September 1st.

With reagrds to Ray Ranson, I have been told that the club does not need to pay his company a lump sum in September and they have renegiotiated the payments so they are structured over a percentage of future transfers alone.

Once all this is dealt with in the next 3 weeks then the club have will have the time and breathing space to start dealing with Langston and between September and December the 2 parties can hopefully come to an agreement that suits both sides but importantly ends Langstons interest in Cardiff City.

I always knew Sam wanted only good for the club :ayatollah: It's sad when people are blaming him for our struggles, he was the chairman with real passion

If more people could here him speak and feel the passion he has for this club it would embarrass a lot of people to be honest. Sam has remained a City fan throughout his exile and follows the club from abroad.

He rang me on the way to the game against Sheff Utd, wishing us luck and looking forward to the season, he is a city fan and no one can deny it.

I agree but the trouble is now that back then when he left the club his close friends seemed to split in 2 directions and depending which side you listen to then you will get differing opinions , I didnt know him and have listened to both sides of the story and I can only comment on the facts I see and not what I get told ! Personally Im 50/50 coz he really did some good for this club and would not be where we are without him but on the other hand he and Langston shafted the club and he did threaten to " close us down if the fuckers ( us the fans ) turn on me " plus he said when he left " the debt goes with me " ! Id give him a 2nd chance but thats up to TG now , theres no denying Sam's passion and knowledge for the game and CCFC tho but he'd have to convince a lot of supporters to get him back onside whether he came back or not ! :ayatollah:
