FRIDAY UPDATE

The news today is that the FA have alledgedly used City's share of the League money that is handed to club's around this time to settle the deal with Sunderland for Michael Chopra. The club was to receive around £1.5million but the FA have sent it straight to the North East. I understand that there had been an agreement reached but somehow City failed to maintain it's committment, the positive is that the money has been paid and it is another debt out of the way for now.

I have told you in another thread that there is no planned meeting agreed between TG and Sam.

The deal with Ipswich is according to my sources very much still on for Ross to go and Stead coming this way.

With Lee Naylor, despite City signing trialist Martin John, the club are still trying to get the deal done but Naylors agent is touting his player to the Premiership but City are still trying.

I am told Dave Jones is talking with Tony Pulis over a possible signing and the name I am being told is Michael Tonge, a name that has been mentioned on several occassions across the messgaeboards, we will have to see where that one goes.

Whether we will see anything happen today is doubtful but not a definate no, as there is another tax bill to be paid in 6 days time ( 19th Aug ), I would think that DJ is working overtime to get his targets in and signed prior to that date, as Gethin Jenkins has already warned there could possibly be another embargo on us.

I was hearing whispers yesterday that Bothroyd could possibly be on his way but I have been sounding out different people and i cant find any more out on it, so for now I will hope like most that it is just a rumour.

all quite positive then carl.... apart from the bothroyd rumour and lets hope thats just what it is , a rumour. he is pivotal to how we play ,he is certainly a must keep player.....fingers crossed eh.

The 2009 accounts showed the wage bill @ just over £1m per month. Income tax would be 50% and NI 9% on most of that amount, plus there is an employers national insurance contribution as well.

Yes Deano it is very normal, nobody has publicaly said if all of the outstanding tax had been or if the overdue amount had been paid.

Sorry Chief you dont ask Carl those questions even if you do he wont tell you ,all you need to know is he gets well over 90% of his exclusives correct.As it stands you know as well as anything going for certain players often breaks down, so bearing in mind this its as he said it is. But the Echo will run the same names within the next few days.

I would be gutted if Bothroyd left, not just because of the way we play and how important he is. From a personal point of view I can't see us playing without him, DJ has worked so hard with him would be a shame to see it all go to pot now. But Bothroyd has also stated 'I consider myself to be a Cardiff boy, this club has resurected my career' lets hope he loves the club as much as he said he does and doesnt do a 'I want to play in the premier league' then go off to the spl.

Chill....Bothroyd won't be going anywhere.......only to the Premier league with us and Bellers of course!!

I don't like the rumour about Bothroyd because he is essential to the way we play at the moment and i just hope that we are not thinking of getting Stead in as Jays replacement
