All this talk about Bellers and Loovens possibly coming on loan to us makes me wonder if we are close to the limit of loan players at the club. What is the maximum amount of loan players a club can have and how many more can we have?

We are allowed 4 long term loan players...we already have 3, then i think its between 4 -8 short term loan players, this being a 3 month period.

We are allowed 5 loan players. 3 long term. (koumas, drinky, Olofinjana)
And we can only have 4 loan players on the pitch at any one time.
that was my understanding anyway?

Football League Rule 47.3.1 allows clubs to have a maximum of 8 short term loans and 4 loan term loans per season. Clubs are only allowed to name a maximum of 4 loans signings (short or long term) in the match day squad.
Clubs can apply for an emergency goalkeeper loan (short term) which can increase the number of loan signings to 5 in the match day squad.
If a club makes a loan signing permanent during the season it is not counted in the overall total of loan signings.
So unless we sign Drinkwater, Koumas or Olinfinjana full time during the season we will only be allowed 1 further long term loan signing this season.

you only allowed 5 loan players in a match day squad. But you can take 4 long term loan players and 4 short term loan players at any one time. But you are allowed up 8 short term loan players through out the season.
Here is what i found out....
The Football League have now confirmed the situation regarding loans as follows:
Standard loans can be for half a season or a full season. These can only be done during the two transfer windows (i.e. by the end of today or in January 2010).
Emergency loans can be done outside of the transfer window, but not after the fourth Thursday in November or March.
A club can have a maximum of four players under 23 and a further four over 23 on standard loan during the season. There is no limit on Emergency Loans.
However, only four players maximum can join one club from another during the season.
A maximum of five loan players can be named on a team sheet

Keogh is/was the other target for LT loan i think. Where Naylor is hopeful to be a free transfer.
But remember, Jones won't sign another
long term loan until Bellamy has decided his future for the coming season!
