GREETINGS from Poland

Mon Aug 16, 2010 12:09 pm

As some of you may have noticed I mentioned last week i was off to poland !! Well I made it safe and sound after a 26hour drive from Cardiff to Rzeszow !!!! A bit crazy and cheaper to fly I know but im a stress head and dont like the flying lol :ayatollah: Its been very hot here and the mosquitos are insane 26 bites now but compensated by the great vodka and beer care of my polish wifes family !!!! The main reasons for going was a polish wedding and I MUst say its superb absolutly insane. I went on a bus and they had some bloke playing the accordian, drums and a saxophone on way to the church and vodkas of course. 1 HOUR at the church and then into the party around 4.00pm until 6.00am with a live band and unlinited drink and 6 courses of food. Got back at 7.00am the next day to the wifes village and then there was a day 2 and all back on it at 2.00pm with polish music and vodka flowing a great experience. The women are stunning !!!!

I watched poland v cameroon on the tele and poland lost 0-3, prob around 40,000 and they were not happy the press reckon now that Polish football is in the dark ages and cant see any way back to the old days, they even lost to spain 7-0 nil i think a few months back. Driving back on friday and cant wait to get back the city and football , but I must say the Polish have been very hospitable to me and the lads in the village know Cardiff City and I got them doing an ayotoallah in a kick about here !!! :ayatollah:

Rzeszow is a lovely place. We spent the day there on the way back from Lviv recently. Nice square with plenty of bars and eateries. Did not see it at night as we flew from there to Bristol at 8.00 at night.

Recommend it for a short break away from the much busier Krakow, although that seemed pretty good for the short time we were there.
