Not saying it's the best thing to do, but it's understandable.

Whenever carl posts anything here, there are instantly choruses of naysayers elsewhere demeaning not only carl but also this site.

Like I said, it's understandable people will then react when carl's ( and corkys) info is proven right.

If those constantly critical of carl et al actively want to apologise, then that shows they have some class. It has to come from them unprompted though, otherwise it's meaningless.

I believe Mike and Carl had a chat last night, and both sides want to try and reduce the animosity, there's no need for it

Especially today when we've all had a fantastic piece of news

Who do you want to apologise? Ask them directly, PM them, a thread on the board saying "told you so" and asking for "people" to apologise isn't helping anyone, it's likely to create more bad feeling.

Also, I'm guessing Carl has broad enough shoulders to take an anonymous messageboard poster having a pop at him, I get it day in day out for doing nothing more than deleting the odd message.

i would be on there for weeks if i had to pm everyone who abused him, the same as here. that's why it was an open post inviting them all to apologise in one thread.
if they aren't man enough to then that's their problem.

People are calling for consistency which, in my opinion, blatantly doesn't happen when it comes to Carl. Every time there's a complaint the same official language gets regurgitated.

And for what it's worth I think the same here when people say "sniping" and with TLG being banned.

I'm not sure where you think this is too "familiar", I've only posted on here a few times, mainly yesterday and today to try and defend my/our corner.

Consistency is impossible I'm afraid, between Mike and I we'll do our best, that's all I can say. We can't please everyone.

mike, how is asking for an apology childish. if they are big enough to abuse him then they should be big enough to apologise.

I've seen it a few times but don't want to get drawn into semantics for the sake of going round in circles. Have been using CCMB since 1999 (mostly as a voyeur) so understand all you say. I personally, would have allowed that thread to roll due to the torrent of abuse and ridicule Carl etc received. Then again I do not have the time nor inclination to be a moderator and I don;t envy you that position. Like I said, if I see anything I will report although I hate being a snitch.

Agree wholeheartedly with this no need for it. All these pantomime villains and parodies of themselves started with the inner circle. It's just pathetic.
