Over 2000 new season tickets were sold on Dec 30th and 31st sending the total through the 10,000 barrier set by the club.
Funds of upto £3m were promised to Dave Jones if the club sold 10,000 tickets for next season. The incentive to the fans was to 1, help Jones with his transfer kitty, 2, fix the price of their season tickets for 5 years and 3, get a refund if City did actually get promted this season.
Well the fans have done their bit and responded in their thousands.
The club have extended the offer into next week. The ticket office is closed now until Monday Jan 4th and it will take new applications when it opens on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Jan 6th for 2010 / 2011 season tickets.
Mr Ridsdale, Mr Jones, it's over to you..
Peter Ridsdale told the official website: "I want to thank all the fans who have responded to our offer. The take-up has been superb, with Wednesday and Thursday record days for sales.
"But to ensure we satisfy demand, we are bringing in a three-day 'mop-up' period. Christmas and New Year is a very busy time, so if anybody missed out, they will still get the chance to help Dave and the club."
