A forum for all things Cardiff City

Hi Carl,
With all the furore that has surrounded us this week we must not forget that Saturdays game against Donny will be the tribute to Brian Clark. With the added interest of Bellamy signing, hopefully we will have a near sell out crowd which will be totally fitting to a true legend and a gent who I had the pleasure of talking to a few times. Can you check with the club that it will be a minutes applause rather than a minutes silence. I am worried that with all the pre match Bellamy hype and people maybe coming in late to their seats, it will be impossible for a silence to be successful. Instead, lets all make it the loudest and longest applause we have ever done to say a proper goodbye to a legend before we welcome our next possible legend in CB.
I hope you agree as I would hate it to go wrong for Brian and his family.
Can you let us all know after you have spoken to the club.
Cheers
Moley

Maybe the club can sort out a giant flag with a picture of Brian Clark on it, also with RIP Cardiff Legend or somthing like that?

Please see my earlier post - print out the pic on A4 and laminate. That's what I'm doing.

All excellent ideas guys. Anymore from anyone else and perhaps Carl can then speak to the club about them all at the same time.

Carl - over to you when you get a chance.

Any idea Carl on the applause question, or any other ideas from anyone else?

The club have an agenda for Saturday regarding Brian but I am not aware of the plans.

I would to recite the following poem before the minutes handclap:
Giants we saw on Saturdays
From the stands at Ninian Park
On weeknights we saw Gods created
Under the lights that pierced the dark
Boyhood dreams have burned out now
But the thrill still perseveres
When I met a man I’ve idolised
For over forty years
I saw him last, this gentle man
Only months ago it seems
Visiting a man he idolised
Who’d played for the same team
He followed in his bootsteps
And pride I’m sure abounded
For a man who was not just a hero
But the legend that he founded
The memories of that boyhood
And the joy and pleasure he gave
Have stayed with me all my life so far
And I’ll take them to my grave
A love of football he helped create
In those days at Ninian Park
A legend, hero and a lovely man
God bless you Brian Clark.
