I've looked at Burhou on Google maps there's no cover there whatsoever, no trees no nothing, so if they were there they would have been spotted, plus no cover means freezing temperatures so exposure would have meant not much hope especially soaked to the skin. It's a mystery as big as when Glenn Miller was lost over the English Channel in October 1944
But this I swear, before you and before Almighty God, that when we go into battle, I will be the first to set foot on the field, and I will be the last to step off, and I will leave no one behind. Dead or alive, we will all come home together

It does have at least one building, the plane may have come down in the sea hence no wreakage on the island but if the pilot new the area he may have known this and headed there....yes long shot but worth someone checking the buildings

I stand corrected - wonder why Google maps doesn't show this?

You're right, missed it. It's toward the middle of the island, still bloody cold sheltering there, but it's feasible, though unlikely.

This is apparently where flares were supposedly sighted too. A glimmer of hope perhaps but in this weather realistically it is sadly still a recovery mission. For the sake of the families I hope both are found so there is some dignity and closure for their poor families.

They should land on that island and search it. Disgusting if no1 does that. If it were a politician or someone from the royal family they would, and ofcourse would be a massive operation. Everyone is equal.

This was originally taken by a guy who lives in Brighton, I remember seeing the post when he posted it Tuesday morning, said he ‘spotted this over the English Channel on Tuesday morning at 7:15am’ this island is our last hope, I hope to god they look tomorrow, come on Emiliano!!!

The island apparantely has puffins and rabbits living on there, so that is a source of food to survive. Apparently has a sheltered area too. This is really clutching at straws i know but not impossible.'

Don’t read into this to much, they searched late at night in the dark, didn’t search for long either as it was dark and they was preparing to go in, I believe they’ll be searching it again tomorrow in day light hopefully!! Remember, the media twist a lot, so until confirmed, keep the faith, club and fans really need to pull together now!! :bluebird:

They never, and was late at night in the dark, tomorrow they need to search it, should’ve searched it Tuesday morning if rumours of the flare coming from there is true

Someone posted on twitter they even have beds and stuff to light fires on the island in the shelter part. Maybe the pilot had knowledge of this island and made his best to get there when things started going tits up with the plane?

I have a few questions. Please can you reply with your input even if you don't know exactly the situation, just update my points with anything you know.

1: These flares are real so why hasn't anyone explained them? It couldn't have possibly been anything else otherwise surely someone would have said "it was me" or something. But nothing.

2: Searching the area on a boat by shining a light for 30 minutes and trying to shout so they hear you isn't going to do much if they are sleeping due to exhaustion and you have to take into account the wind and the sound of the water hitting the rocks etc. Can you confirm if anyone actually set foot and gave it a thorough check?

and 3: Do you know why this possible scenario in which there is EVIDENCE of Pictures hasn't been mentioned in the press or on the news, even if it was just to cancel it out somehow. How is it this has not even been mentioned? I Don't get it!

If you can't answer question 1 or 2, then we have a SERIOUS reason to be hopeful! Not just a saying, an actual meaningful reason. These pictures are NOT FAKE!

I got this message tonight. I just went on Google Maps and browsed the areas around Guernsey, there are a couple of islands with airports but if they landed on one of those islands, they would have been safe and communicated. I then noticed a tiny bit of extra land north of Guernsey and thought what's this? I zoomed in and the name Burhou popped up. I looked into it further and apparently, nobody lives in Burhou, it's a bird sanctuary and landing there is banned. If they haven't crashed in the sea and taking into account if they landed on any other island near Guernsey, they would have got help and communicated by now, I think Burhou is the next logical place to check. It's just north of Guernsey and they were about 15 minutes past Guernsey when the radar went, so the direction they were flying and the placement of Burhou fits as the next possible landing destination.

This information has been sent to the club by that person and i have done the same myself :thumbright:
