Feelgood factor surrounding Bluebirds following Premier League triumph at Southampton

A Cardiff City supporter has gone on national radio to put football fans' feelings about the Emiliano Sala tragedy into a nutshell.

Ash telephoned Jason Mohammad's 606 show on BBC Radio 5 live in the wake of their last-gasp 2-1 Premier League win at Southampton, courtesy on an injury-time Kenneth Zohore goal - a victory that saw the Bluebirds climb out of the relegation zone.

The game was played just two days following the confirmation the body recovered from the plane wreckage in the English Channel was formally identified as the missing Cardiff City footballer Sala.

Ash told the 606 show: "The ups and downs, it's unbelievable the way the lads has responded and Neil Warnock deserves so much credit and everyone associated with the club.

"My sister who has no interest in football rang me the other day after seeing Sala's sister crying on TV footage.

"Even people who aren't that interested in football in Cardiff have been affected by it.

"On a positive note today I feel the gods are smiling on us, to win it like that through Kenneth Zohore, who hasn't had a look in and been out of it this year to come on and do that.

"Maybe, just maybe there's going to be a miracle in south Wales this year."

A broadcaster and journalist has also lauded the special relationship between the Cardiff City board, fans and players during a difficult last few weeks for the Bluebirds.

Ben Isaacs has watched the Bluebirds go through the emotional mill following the death of Sala while fighting a relegation battle at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Isaacs responded: "There is no Premier League team where the players care more about the shirt than at Cardiff City.

"And no club’s board is more in touch with the fans.

"An absolutely remarkable turnaround considering where CCFC was a few years back."
