THE RACECOURSE WREXHAM

Wales will return to Wrexham for the first time in 10 years, next Wednesday, when they host Trinidad and Tobago.

Last time they played at the North Wales Stadium resulted in a 3:0 defeat of Norway.

The game is a 15000 sellout. But could be a whole lot more if that one side of the Stadium behind the Goal was refurbished from a Terrace to all seated stand.

It is an eye sore and should be demolished at least, for a reduced capacity all seated stand, that would bring it up to an All purpose up to date stadia, that North Wales could host many more Wales Internationals.

I remember being on that terrace in the 70's for a home game against West Germany. The locals didn't much like us. Mad day out all in all. We mitched school and went up on a £ 1.50 Rover bus ticket. Must have been about 10 buses from Bridgend to Shrewsbury when finally gave up and got on a train.
