Not just about goals scored

Sun May 05, 2019 6:50 pm

Just looking back over our results
We won 9 games
Same as southampton and brighton
We lost 5 games 1 nil
Those 5 games if we had kept a clean sheet
We would not be relegated yet so its not just about
The lack of a striker
And yes i do realise if we had scored one in each of those games
It would have given us the same extra 5 points
Just putting a different perspective its not allways about
The strikers

Could say it was tactics as well losing by one nil wasnt insurmountable but didnt seem to have the ability to take game to opposition when required....

Interesting way at looking at fair play,we all seem to look at the lack of goals but thats a new twist
Sheffield Utd away last season was our last score draw(from the other Side).

the tactics changed as the players did game by game but generally it was stay in the game hopefully at nil and then gamble at the end. our late goals and shots on goal clearly back this up..
you can not be going toe to toe with vastly superior teams for 90 minutes. if it wasn't crystal clear before yesterday it certainly should have hit home even if you have bat vision and a goldfish brain last night , we played further up the park which allowed them space against our defenders and they should really have killed us off 1st half..
