QPR confirm appointment of ex-Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton
Wednesday 8th May 2019
Queens Park Rangers have confirmed the appointment of former Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton.
The 56-year-old, who has been out of football since leaving the City Ground back in 2017, has penned a two-year deal at Loftus Road.
Warburton takes charge nine weeks on from the sacking of ex-England boss Steve McLaren who, after taking charge of the R's a year ago this month, couldn't put an end to his side's dismal run of Championship form.
Former Coventry City and Watford midfielder John Eustace, who ended the season as caretaker manager, is expected to remain at the club as Warburton's number two.
"When I spoke to QPR they were very clear," Warburton told QPR's official site.
"They have a solid plan and know what they want. They have a long-term outlook and that appealed to me immediately.
"I am excited about the challenge that lies ahead.
"I am delighted and privileged to be managing this club."
