I remember feeling exactly the same mate.
Around a year later, my late dad met the ref we had for that game in a hotel in London. He couldn’t resist asking him about the incident and he said that his hands were completely tied as new directive had been introduced the not interfering with play and he literally had to do it. Dad said he was s lovely guy and he signed an autograph for me saying “Always play the whistle”
I’ve since met the ‘offside’ player in Cardiff and brought the incident up with him too.
He didn’t have a lot of time for ccfc he said as some of our fans gave him a bit of a kicking soon after that game when they bumped into him.

Luton's Ceri Hughes from Trealaw had a kicking the night of the game in Charmonds in Porth, all his own fault as well. Don't think he was the offside player though.

I’m sure he was the player offside but David Preece was the scorer...I think
