And yet nothing can be done about it

It’s being dismantled and the slide will be impossible to stop without a change of ownership that much is clear

Sad. So sad to see.

If they're looking for a manage, I believe Craig Bellamy is available.

The Englishman was officially unveiled as Chris Hughton's successor at the Amex on Monday afternoon, bringing an end to more than a week of speculation.

He signs a four-year deal at the club, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League last season at the expense of Swansea's bitter rivals Cardiff City .

Brighton are understood to have paid around £3million to bring Potter and his backroom team to the south coast, with Billy Reid, Bjorn Hamburg and head of recruitment Kyle Macaulay all set to join him in Sussex.

Potter was the number one choice to take over the Seagulls almost as soon as Hughton's departure was confirmed and, despite the best efforts of Swansea's hierarchy , is now set to embark on his first ever season in the Premier League.

Swansea rejected Brighton's initial approach before offering the former Ostersunds boss a new bumper deal, but the lure of top flight football is believed to have proved great enough to convince Potter, who turns 44 on the day of his unveiling, to turn his back on the final two years of his contract at the Liberty Stadium and move on.

Attention for Swansea, and chairman Trevor Birch, now turns to who will now replace Potter in the Liberty Stadium hot seat.

Under-23s coach Cameron Toshack is currently the favourite with the bookies, while Leon Britton, John Eustace and Daniel Stendel are some of the other names to have also been mentioned.

It's understood that the club have not yet drawn up an official shortlist, but have made initial contact with several potential candidates.

They are likely to now step up their search now Potter's departure to the south coast has been confirmed.
