A number of other clubs are understood to be weighing up moves for Vaulks, but Cardiff are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by launching an early bid to land the former Falkirk man.

Would be a great signing

Well I hope he's taken the precaution of having a look at him on YouTube before making his mind up.

Yeah, I've checked that out and he seems competent. He does very impressive somersaults when he scores too, which would intimidate opponents such as Swansea who would probably regard it as supernatural .

Would be an excellent signing very good in the championship and highly regarded by Rotherham fans.Plenty of other clubs interested in him though reputedly Sheff Wed Middlesborough and Sheffield United though now they have been promoted maybe they will be looking for better. Rotherham fans rate Danny Ward so if he was part of a deal it might help too.

BBC is now reporting this story, so looks like there is defo interest there, can't imagine it would take much of a bid to get him here either.
Will Vaulks: Cardiff City eyeing Rotherham United's Wales midfielder
Cardiff City are targeting Rotherham United's Wales midfielder Will Vaulks.
Vaulks recently signed a new one-year deal with the club relegated from the Championship at the end of the regular 2018-19 season.
The 25-year-old started at Tranmere Rovers and had a spell with Falkirk, before joining Rotherham in 2016.
BBC Wales has learned Cardiff have lodged their interest with The Millers, though the Bluebirds are expected to face competition for his signing.
Vaulks was a surprise call up by Wales manager Ryan Giggs to make his debut in the friendly win over Trinidad and Tobago in March and made his competitive bow in the Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia.
The Wirral-born player with a Welsh mother is an industrious midfield player who possesses an impressive long throw.
Cardiff manager Neil Warnock is looking to rebuild his midfield following relegation from the Premier League.
Long serving Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has left to join Qatar's club in Al Arhaby, while loanees Harry Arter and Victor Camarasa have returned to their parental clubs, Bournemouth and Real Betis, respectively.

I like the fact we are making attempts to sign players early and not messing about, this is good news if true.
We need to hit our targets as early as possible and don't let players piss us about, there you go sign in two days or we are moving on to the next on our list!

I agree
if we want to hit our targets early
We have to put the best offer over and above the others to secure the player, and move onto the next
Not like the grujic affair.

Lets not mess around this summer, we need to get a head start and get these players in and ready for the start of the season

The trouble with that, which I certainly agree with, is that no clubs like to pay two months wages or more for players who aren't going to be playing yet. The outcome of that is all this last minute bidding and so the club which is selling hangs on to see if they get a higher bid at eleven thirty on the transfer deadline .

Sod that, pay the extra two months and get a head start on the rest, cheaper than leaving it to the last minute and getting into a bidding war.

If true, Neil Warnock will know him already and hewould be a good signing for Cardiff City
Wait to sign him?
No, do our business early and give both manager and supporters the confidence that we won't be left chasing shadows in the transfer market again this season!

Anyone know the type of player he is?
Would he be attacking or be more of an Arter / Ralls role which?

Thought he was more of a Gunnarsson player tbh. Has a hell of a long shot mind and a long throw

So a fitter Gunners with an eye for a goal - that’ll do nicely.

And he consistently throws the ball 0.25 metres longer than gunners.

I’ll be honest I’ve not seen a lot of him but depending on price my gut is that he is the type of player we should be going for, he has goals and assists in him, still a good age and plenty to prove. I don’t believe in buying players because they play for Wales but that is a bonus.
Be interesting to see what kind of price is being talked about, the fact Warnock has connections in Rotherham may also help.

The powers that be really need to alter the way we do things,
Ratherthan bidding along with the other chasing clubs, we need to know what we want, and what they want And do it now.

How many players did we chase last season,
deals fall through for a number of reasons..Warnock said we agreed a fee twice for one player in january only for the selling club to increase the asking price a 2nd time..then there are the players..apparently we matched Leicesters offer for Vardy but he chose them for geographical reasons..
we are doing things fine, not paying stupid money for bog standard players.
