COWLEY FRUSTRATED WITH LINCOLN BUDGET

Sky Sports

24/05/19

Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley is frustrated with the budget he has been given to work with this summer, Sky Sports News has been told.

Cowley guided Lincoln to promotion from Sky Bet League Two as champions last month, but is one of four candidates West Brom are keen to talk to regarding their vacant managerial position.

Sky Sports News understands West Brom would have to pay £500,000 in compensation to Lincoln if they wanted to bring Cowley to The Hawthorns.

It's unlikely Danny would leave without brother and assistant manager Nicky Cowley - it's thought his contract includes a compensation clause worth a similar amount.

Cowley doesn't currently think Lincoln's budget is big enough to compete fully in Sky Bet League One but he also understands the board's reluctance to put the club's financial future at risk.
