WOODGATE ASKS FOR COACH KEANE

12/06/19

Robbie Keane has confirmed that Jonathan Woodgate has asked him to be part of his new coaching set up at Middesbrough.

“He’s a good friend. If I can help him as much as I can I’ll do so,” Keane said. “I saw in the news that he was going to get the job but I didn’t think he was going to call me. But the first person he called was me so I must be alright.”

Former striker Keane is currently an assistant manager with the Republic of Ireland while Woodgate is expected to be announced as Boro's new manager, Sky Sports News understands.
