Baleares - Ridicolous

Postby Brezza » Mon Jun 17, 2019 7:09 pm

They win the league comfortably in the end and yet don’t get promoted. They then go into a play off having drawn the first leg away despite having 2 men sent off. Then in the return they lose out by an away goal. Fortunately they have just won their recent 2 legger and yet they STILL have 2 more games to go which will take their season into the latter half of June. Bloody ridiculous. It won’t be long before they start pre - season training. Again - ridicolous. What a dreadful system. If you win your league you should go up automatically otherwise what’s the point?
I really hope they do it - they deserve too. Come on Baleares :bluescarf:

Your Spot on and it’s criminal and unfair, they did this 7 years ago when I first started watching them and failed at the final hurdle, I really really hope history does not repeat itself.

I believe the 4 Champions should go up and their should be a 5th team going up from the play offs from the 4 leagues.

Remember 54 years of waiting

Hopefully they finally get what they Deserve promotion to La Liga 2 :bluescarf:

It’s got to be disheartening for the players too Annis playing their socks off for next to no reward not just the fans

Not to mention being at a disadvantage (knackered and less time to prepare) for next season no matter what Division they are in! :(

Paul,

The fans were at a low all week and even before the game on Sunday, it was very quite , the players were struggling as many are local and feel it.

Most of the season they were top and did everything asked of them.

Hopefully after Sunday’s win and back in the Final they are on a high again.

Champions and ended up with 6 play off games and still undefeated.

Good Luck Annis let’s hope they can get across the line this time round.

For me Spanish football always favours the bigger clubs and the bigger squads. It’s like they never want the smaller sides to make the break though. In any other league I am sure if you finish top you would get automatic promotion.

Can you confirm the reason for the playoffs - is it cause they have the more localised leagues to help with costs and then the playoffs are the winners of these play for promotion.

When is the next match as should get on Spanish TV :bluescarf:

Dobbins, I agree with you there.

Nothing to do with costs.

Atletic has won the League had to then travel to Racing Santander , North Spain, cost a fortune and over 600 fans travelled many having to stay two days.

Then away to North Africa Mellilla owned by Spain, 50,000 euros cost the club for a plane.

All Madness.

I get the division being regional and therefore the complications in promotion.

don't get that its still going on in late June , those divisions should be 18 teams to allow for play offs..or like ourselves play more mid week games. we play 8 games more yet finish earlier..
agree with Sven, its a huge disadvantage promoted or not.

I really hope they get promoted......at least they will feel the never ending season would have been worthwhile. :bluescarf:

Thanks Jim :thumbright: :bluescarf: , as what happens if they fail they will go back after a short break on a big downer.
