Cardiff fans to boycott Jacks away? time for change

Tue Jun 18, 2019 9:51 am

Wayne Dibs Anderson

The worst runabout will be confirmed on Thursday, jacks away . I for one being a travel group organiser would be willing to boycott if a bubble is put in place . Who else would . Should follow suit , other clubs have threatened and done this . #timeforchange

They can threaten to boycott as much as they want, but I cant see of it changes this game from being a bubble. I'd imagine SWP will keep this a bubble no matter what

The problem is if some boycott as seen previously on anything, Cardiff fans never unite and other Cardiff fans will take their places a fact.

Problem is we haven’t played swansea recently, there will be an up and coming generation who’ve never been to Swansea away and they’ll end up going no matter what. A boycott won’t happen.

I won't be going so would support it.

I went to the last one and it just isn't worth the hassle.

Sadly, as Annis said, it's unlikely our fans will unite on it, you will have to many who will want to go, especially youngsters who have never done it before.

I'd like to see the Club refuse tickets but it's a damned if they do damned if they don't situation for them to be fair.

done it once because I hadn't been to the Liberty and will never again...but its not going to stop people going for the same reason I did...

don't really see how SWP can stop doing it either.

A bubble is a nightmare for everyone.

However, would every one be confident that if restrictions were removed there would be no trouble !!??

All those who have been at even the most recent games, know that it would kick off big time. Even with bubbles we've had coaches bricked, etc., so anyone thinking that SWP are going to risk that are living in cloud cuckoo land :o

agree...I actually think the bubbles and the length of time they have gone on have increased tensions and hatred ..

Same for me, I went in 96 and then only went in the PL season as I hadn't been to the Liberty but it was just a ball ache, In 96 we just got on the coaches in the car park opposite Ninian and were taken in and out but there was a hell of a lot more of a palava to it now, must have been sat outside the CCS for well over and hour before we even left Cardiff then hanging around on a business park in Swansea.

96 ? bloody hell that's a long time ago , was that the first bubble ? ..i think we were banned for a few years prior ?

Of course there would be trouble but I don't think it would be to the extent some think as most of the posturing is done because there's no actual chance of getting within an inch of each other.

It's a Football Derby, and as long as there is Football there will be trouble at Derby's but it's 2019 now and most people just want to go to the game and go home.

It's probably easier for the Police to Police the minority rather than the majority now, like they do for the Severnside Derby.

Won't it be mayhem without it being a bubble? Always made sense to me or bring a bubble but then I don't really go away anymore.

not sure...I think if they got away with it { only minor stuff } the first season it would settle as I agree with you generally. but I also think that its been built into something where there is this expectation of major trouble ..tbh ive been to loads of non bubbled derbys prior to all of this and bar 2 there really wasn't much trouble. and the one at NP could easily have been avoided, putting them in the grandstand was insane.

ironically the introduction of these bubbles did not come from fans fighting outside or in city centres.it followed a total ban after the throwing seats at the children game at NP. Swansea had arrived mostly by train quite late and the train had brought them to NP station..

I did the Vetch bubbles but have never been to the Liberty. Too old to spend 3 hours travelling to Cardiff to spend 3 hours travelling from there to Swansea when its always on the box. I would say there' zero chance of a boycott this year with us finally having the upper hand in a long while.

Last time we were banned loads of us still got in the north bank and opposite stand. The OB can’t differentiate the accent specially the English OB on duty :bluebird:

Agreed and I wouldn't want to, as it's still a good atmosphere, especially as we are going to beat the tramps twice :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If it wasn't a bubble it would be carnage I think!

Agreed more so on their side, as we are the big club they like to hate, for us their fans are just annoying tools.

Pointless, this fixture will always be a bubble, and fans will always want to go. Just spiting yourself if you don’t.

Re: Cardiff fans to boycott Jacks away? time for change

Times have moved on, fans mix at Wales games, the vast majority of people will just want to go to the game.

Most people are sensible enough these days not to get involved, in the past it would have been crazy and I understand why they brought in the bubble as you would have probably had 1000+ on either side out for a go but these days you would probably have a couple of hundred at most combined and it would be easy enough to Police.

You would have people going on the train that is simple enough to Police, escort out of the station, make coaches go to RV Point like other places and let those that want to go by car crack on.

It's not like you're going to have minibuses full of lads or rogue coaches going down there, like I said those days are gone, I cant remember the last time I saw a mob of Cardiff all together in big numbers, probably the FA Cup Final.

There will be trouble, like all games but it won't be mass disorder, I'm confident of that.

People would big it up but it would be all hot air.

If they scrapped the bubble and gave us 1500 tickets which is probably all they wil give us anyway how many of that do you think would be going with the intention of getting involved in any trouble, less than 100 probably, if that.

The last time I went on a bubble to that shit hole it was a absolute nightmare. Can't remember the year but it was with Dibs tours, night game.

We met at the Oak in Bryncethin, coach to NP (the opposite direction to where we were trying to get to). Queued at NP while they loaded the coaches. Took hours on the M4 to get to shitsville and also held up for nearly an hour by the SWP tossers a couple of miles from ground.

I was ejected early in the 2nd half, my Bro was arrested after the game for literally "falling over" as the Police crowded us between the buses. I vowed then never again and I'm sticking to that vow.

A boycott is a good idea to make some sort of stand. :bluebird:

I was on the same coach as you , I left my car at the Oak . So many hours wasted.

Bubble trip means that the visiting fans MUST travel only on official organised coaches, no fans are allowed to travel independently by train or car, each time I have been to Swansea all the coaches left from Leckwith so you have 30 plus coaches travelling slowly in a police escorted convoy taking bloody ages down the M4 and then all the coaches are held a few miles from the Liberty then escorted in two or three coaches at a time. It's a right ballache for a 40 mile trip!

I think I am right in saying the South Wales Derby is the only bubble trip now in British football?

Says it all really!

Yes but the tramps faces when we beat them were great, it makes it worth it :laughing6:

The last time seemed better, a bit less of a wait on the industrial estate and I think we were in the ground for longer before the start of the game.

A Will Vaulks summersault with the winner will be brilliant

Isn't the Burnley/Blackburn game a bubble when it happens? Or is it another Lancashire derby? Is Wrexham/Chester one aswell? Mind you times do change for some!
