SEASON TICKETS

Sat Aug 21, 2010 8:30 am

Everyone is on a buzz at present and it feels amazing and with it comes expectation, most fans believe we will be up there at the end of this season and so do most other club's fans too. The way supporters show their support is by going to games so I have a question :

If the club put season tickets back on sale at Christmas, would you buy a one and would it matter on our league position at that time, also how many would you estimate we would sell ?

I think that if we are top 2 then we would sell 15,000+

If we were outside the play offs then we would sell less than 5,000.

Would I buy, yes I would but there again I cant help myself.

Re: SEASON TICKETS

Agree with you more or less.

Top 2 15,000.

Play off spot 10,000.

Below play off spot 8,000.

to be honest carl i think if the club is to get back to stability i think they need to move the season ticket re sale to april where that money genuinley helps us get through the summer or we start the cycle we are in again now where we are spending next seasons money before this one ends ala ridsdale.
mind you come march if we are 20 points clear of third place then i would start selling.

Re: SEASON TICKETS

Sat Aug 21, 2010 8:36 am

top 2, i think 20k
top 6 12k
outside top 6 8k
we really should be looking at top 2 tho, we have a chance this year which we have to grasp and not let slip like last year.
40 years supporting us and i have never seen anything like this week.

I agree steve, but if they were on sale at Christmas i would still buy regardless, if we were top 2 then we would sell 15000 easy in my opinion.

If it guarenteed premiership football next yeat, id buy one now.

Re: SEASON TICKETS

Sat Aug 21, 2010 7:28 pm

If you look at how many were sold during the 'infamous' Chrimbo sale last year then it would be reasonable to assume the figure for even 'looking' like serious contenders would be high; probably 15 - 20,000

The genuine (long-term) supporters will always buy their tickets when asked; particularly when the deal is potentially as good as last years could have been....and, to a slightly lesser extent in the end, was.

If Cardiff were to be promoted you'd have to queue for a week to get a ticket for certain games and at what price?

It may or may not be this season (I sincerely hope it is) but Cardiff City are going up sooner rather than later and it will be far easier to 'commit' your support for your club now, in anticipation of this occurring and you being unnable to get in when the dream becomes reality.

What price a ticket then???? :)

I'd like to see a 12 month rolling Direct Debit...easier all round. Lee

Re: SEASON TICKETS

I'd buy at anytime too, especially with added incentives.

However, in the words of Gethin Jenkins "We are trying to get the club back on a sustainable financial footing, and a thriving business!"

Then I think we should move the sales back to around March/April to help the longterm future of the club.

Dave Jones Squad is looking pretty strong now, and i feel he doesnt really need to add much more to it, unless players LEAVE and we need to REPLACE them, thus not unsettling the wage structure.

If we do need to add due to injuries/replacements in the January transfer window, Im sure that wont be a problem because we'll be flying high in the league, and VT/TG will look serious at it because the Premiership wont be far away!

my two cents anyway! :ayatollah:

That would be a good move all round. making it affordable for fans and a guaranteed regular income for the club.

based on the same idea then
if i was the malaysians i would now pay off pmg asap therefore releasing all the premier club income back into the clubs coffers.
they could then restructure it so that it was more affordable to fans and the they would possibly end up with 2000 people averaging say £80 per month before food or beverage and that would give the club an extra basic income of just under two million a year that they dont see now.
the next step then would be to regain the catering contract back from compass to lift revenue higher again

Both those ideas would be great for the club in the medium/long term if they can be afforded in the short term, but the Compass one might be a bit of an expensive "buy back".Was it £3m or £4m they put up as an advanced payment to get their 10 year contract?

If Carl is right with his belief that PMG are due to be repaid £2m next month then , by the club forcing them to take the debt for shares swap as well , paying them off entirely might well be affordable.Especially , as you point out , as a successful revamped Premier Club would then generate so much cash for the club`s coffers.

Of as much , if not more importance , though is settling the Langston debt for £10m by the end of the year as this would remove another £16m of liabilities from the May 2009 balance sheet.
