New footage has emerged of the violence between Swansea and Bristol City fans at a football match earlier this year.

Seventeen men have now appeared in court over the disorder at the game in Bristol back in February.

Since March, six men have been jailed for a total of 56 weeks for public order offences.

Nigel Pritchard, from Swansea , was the latest one to appear in court this week. The 53-year-old has been jailed for six weeks, as well as being ordered to pay £115 in costs and facing a six-year Football Banning Order (FBO).

Earlier this month, another Swansea fan was jailed for the "despicable" brawl at the match .

Leigh Phillips became involved in clashes against opposing fans before, during, and after the game at Ashton Gate stadium on February 2.

Phillips, 53, was jailed for eight weeks after pleading guilty to public order offences. He also received a six-year football banning order (FBO).

During the hearings, Judge Matthews described the behaviour on the day as “outrageous”, “loutish” and “despicable” .

She added that Bristol residents were “sick and tired” of football violence in the city.

Phillips' co-defendant David Darch, 32, of Wellington, Somerset, was jailed for 16 weeks after pleading guilty to a public order offence and was made subject to a six-year FBO as well.

The hearing earlier this month also saw Kelvin Dunn, 24, of Llanelli , given a six-week suspended sentence, ordered to carry 200 hours unpaid work, and made subject to a four-year FBO.

Alexander Wilkinson, 36, of Swansea, was given a six-week suspended sentence, ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work, and made subject to a four-year FBO.

Three men from Bristol have previously been jailed as well.

The court handed five men suspended prison terms ranging from six to 24 weeks and six men have been handed non-custodial sentences.

In total, 21 men were identified by a police investigation involving Avon and Somerset Police, South Wales Police , British Transport Police, Bristol City FC, Swansea FC and Ashton Gate Stadium.

Avon and Somerset Police Detective Inspector David Lewis, who led the investigation, said: “Football can attract a very small minority interested in causing disorder, rather than the game.

"We’ll continue to work with colleagues from other forces and the clubs themselves to make sure genuine fans can enjoy matches safely.

"I hope these sentences show how seriously we and the courts take these offences and will reassure real football supporters.

"Violence around football matches will lead to jail time.”

Six men have non-custodial sentences:

Another must carry out unpaid work as well as paying costs

The men’s FBOs mean they face prison if they attend a Football Association match, home or abroad.

Four other men aged between 20 and 30 – two from Bristol, one from Llanelli and one from Swansea – have cautions with conditions including fines, exclusion from grounds during matches, signing civil Acceptable Behaviour Contracts with the clubs and attending alcohol and victim awareness courses.

In all 21 men were identified by a police investigation involving Avon and Somerset Police, South Wales Police, British Transport Police, Bristol City FC, Swansea FC and Ashton Gate Stadium.

I was at this game and apart from a few punches thrown, there was hardly any real violence.
A warning to fans, they will send you to jail for basically next to nothing. Just not worth it.
