We have 3 league 1 players & even a league 2 player in our squad now and not players that were outstanding down there, so I have to say when you add them to 2 defenders Morrison &Flint who are both very slow, things don't look that great at the back/midfield when your a Championship side supposedly going for promotion?

Who?
I get Day from league two
Nelson and Whyte from league 1
Who is the other?

Completely agree - mad point to make considering our best players in our last promotion season both came from league one.

I'm sure everyone of them are now championship players ?
Also 6 of Sunday's team were ex premier league players ?
It really doesn't mean anything , where you played last season !

It's a valid observation.

Morrison played Premier League at Reading, and we paid £5 million for him, though an OGS signing, and Bamba was top end of Championship with Leicester.

You can mix in some lower league recruits but it's all we have.

Nelson 26 and never played higher than League 1. Not exactly a youngster for the future. We've needed playing resources for this season and the recruitment has been absolutely abject by any standard.

Lost our whole midfield good as, lost Bruno our best defender for seasons and knew Sol was a long term injury.

None of them replaced.

If most of us did that in our employment we'd be out on our ear.

Its not all down to Sir Neil. Far from it, we have a transfer committee!

Your point about Nelson is stupid Vardy hadn’t even played league football before he moved to Leicester in his mid 20’s.

It makes no diffracted where players have played just how good they are. For example people like Bacuna have even conned their way into playing premier league football. Whilst many others who are quality end up spending a lot of their career in the lower leagues.

Not many Jamie Vardys in this world unfortunately. And even fewer of them are available.

In general terms you get what you pay for. We are shopping bargain basement and expect success and it's unrealistic.

Though, as mentioned on numerous threads all over this board, NW has been backed with very signiicant funds and he either now doesn't like them, they're gone, they don't play or like Bacuna currently do play but most of us think they're not good enough and shouldn't be.

Regardless of age or where they have come from after last night's loss its very difficult for there to be any other thought other than Sir Neils recruitment this time is simply not good enough.

I don't blame him alone. We have a transfer committee too!

But what do they know? Dalman spent all summer trying to buy another club and VT never in the country.

Its bonkers to allow a manager who says he is retiring at end of season to oversee bringing in personell to play his brand of football which is becoming rarer and rarer.

The next manager is going to have to start again at this rate.

Bacuna, £4 million!! It's beyond insane. Madine £6 million! Even if we don't have to make a payment because we didn't stay in PL its still probably £4 million for Madine. He was a bit part player for Sheffield Utd being promoted last year, on the surface of it is a Warnock type but is no where near our Saturday afternoon first team. That's two players right there that add up to Cornelius value and are going to provide nothing whatsoever to get us toward upper end of table this season.

Mendez-Laing is not a 'Great Signing'. He is always out injured and very inconsistent, although when he plays well he is very good.

For the signings of Bamba, Hoilett and Etheridge , yes they are all good.

But what about Madine (£6m), Ward (£1.6m), Tomlin (£1.6m , although he is now being given a chance),Bacuna (£3-4m), Bogle (750k), Vassell (£2m), Whyte (£2m_, Vaulks (£2m). Flint (£6m), Glatzel (£5.5). Reid (£10m), Murphy (£11m, £4m on Cunnigham, £3.5m on Smithies . Although the jury is out on the new boys. Day and Nelson were free but are only for cover. That's over £55m on players who are inconsistent or in and out of the team. I know we had to sell Zohore and Manga but they were better than what we replaced them with.

Dave Jones spent £100k on MCCormack, £300k on Bothroyd, £350k on Whittingham, £500k one Chopra, £200k on Loovens , £275k on Johnson, £400k on Marshall and got Burke, McPhail, Heaton, Rae, McNaughton for nothing. I know time has moved on and fees have gone through the roof but the comparison is worthwhile. The fact is Warnock is here now and these are the players we have. it's now like we have a Russel Spade type job to replace the whole team, I think Peltier, Tomlin, Madine, NML and a few others are out of contract at the end of the season, so we'll have to see how we fare in January and next summer on transfers, but I expect NW will be gone by then, hopefully by January.

The youngsters did Ok last night I thought though so maybe there is hope.

Makes a lot of points this fella but never backs them up.
