" Referee for tomorrow / first foreign ref "

Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:29 pm

The referee for tomorrow is the EFL'S first ever foreign referee, Jarred Gillett.

He previously refereed in the Australian A-League, their top tier - where he was awarded Referee of the Year five times and also refereed the A-League Grand Final in five separate years.

He has refereed two Championship matches this season, and given out eleven cards - including eight in Blackburn v Middlesbrough at the weekend.

In his final A-League game, he had a microphone on so viewers could hear what was being said. You can watch that video below.

Great an Ausie, what do they know about football eleven bookings, sounds a right clown, that's all we need!

Missed a booking for the huddersfield player .who when substituted should have left by the ninian stand and not walk the width of the pitch.
Obviously had forgotten the new law, but where were his linesman not to tell him.

Our player did the exact same thing later on? I can only assume it's not being inforced in this league?

I thought he did alright tonight.

Tried to let the game flow and mostly made the right decisions.

One of the better referees in the EFL.
