Anyone heard what happened after game, police, ambulances and road shut right after game finished?
Don’t think it was football violence but never know.
Hope all involved is ok.

A guy (I think it was) had collapsed by the row of houses where ninian park was. Couple of people had put him in the recovery position and called an ambulance but no idea what happened.

An older gentleman had collapsed and wasn't breathing. One fan started giving CPR and we managed to find a doctor who was living in one of the new houses to come out and help. Ambulance took ages. Fingers Crossed he’s ok.

Some sad people though who had been walking past stopped and staring which i find disrespectful. Some bloke is ina bad way and just watching. Personally its not something you need to be doing unless youre helping. Hope he was alright though in the end !

If anyone hears any information could they let me know? There were a few giving CPR and I was one of them. We got ushered away when the trained personnel arrived and the police arrived on the scene.

I was there until the paramedics and ambulance arrived. There were medical staff from the ground there very quickly and the ambulance certainly didn't take ages. The poor chap had a lot of support and help but I don't think he made it through to be honest.

I went to see if I could help when a woman came down the street for help ( I’m a retired GP ). When I got there two lads were doing CPR and the ambulance had been called another doctor was on the scene ( more up to date ) and his wife was being comforted in her distress
There was nothing more I could add so it’s best to clear away to give people room to work and not to obstruct the ambulance and to give his poor wife a bit of respect.

I really wanted to say as someone who did this everyday at one time the two lads doing the CPR were excellent and you gave that man the best chance he could of had of surviving.

Huge respect to the lads for this, hopefully the guy is ok.

Thankfully the man survived probably due to the early CPR done by the City fans and definitely after further treatment from the medics, well done to those who helped, the man was saved because of you, his wife was in a terible state last night and it was great to hear he was talking to her today in hospital he was critical but is recovering

That really is fantastic news. When we left the scene there wasn't a lot of hope for the poor chap to be honest. I'm so glad he survived.

Excellent that he made it, hats off to the lads giving CPR  not an easy thing to do in real time with crowds and pressure, I would recommend anyone to learn it ( correctly ) if they get chance as this shows you never know when it will be needed.

Thanks for update Corky.

Probably was defibrillator that saved him CPR works but only in 10% of cases outside hospital but well done to those supporters he would not have been recoverable otherwise defibrillator or not... I carry one in my car hopefully never need to use it .. :old:

That's interesting, tell me did you buy it or is it to do with your job.I suppose if they were cheap enough a lot more people would carry one.

£1000 but I'm a volunteer driver for ambulance service so they've given me one it's a WAG initiative! But I have performed CPR on several occasions in hospital setting and in the street in previous life! it is not easy and minutes seem like hours, Like said very few survive heart attack outside hospital devibulators can make the difference thats for sure .
