Transfer Window Again

Postby Llantwit Blue » Tue Aug 27, 2019 9:24 pm

Tonight once again highlighted how poor our summer business has been. The six players we signed in the last window Flint aside and who played tonight are nowhere near Championship standard. I would have rathered signed 2/3 quality players who would have improved our squad than the five out of six on show tonight.
Secondly why oh why don’t we sign any players on loan from the top 6/7 Premiership sides the lad Izzy Brown tonight they have on loan from Chelsea Was an example of the quality midfielder we are crying out for he ran the show without breaking sweat poor old Paterson couldn’t get near him. I can only think players don’t want to come here or don’t want to play for Warnock or Managers don’t want to loan us players for what ever reason.
Fingers crossed Warnock pulls a rabbit or two out of the hat and signs a couple of free agents because one thing is for sure we don’t have a lot in reserve.

Absolutely spot on with the assesment of the players purchased from league one.
I have seen nothing in Day, Nelson or whyte to warrant their purchases.
We seem to have wasted another transfer window , whilst our midfield is again woefull.
20% possession in the first half, equates to about 9 minutes of us having the ball, against a 2nd string luton team.
It really is so difficult to watch and if theses type of performances continue, will drive away our fan base.

2 words: Money & Ambition. Teams like Fulham are prepared to spend the money and bring in quality players whereas we won’t. Agree re bringing in Premier League players on loan, why not, the only thing that seems to be preventing it is the club’s reluctance to pay the wages. Not only Brown last night but there have been examples of success stories, Mount, Abraham, Harry Wilson & even Chalobah who played for Huddersfield against us. We are not tapping into the loan market. All these players are of a better quality than the players we have brought in this summer. Appreciate Mount & Abraham have stayed at Chelsea this season but in previous years they have been loaned out. Why didn’t we go for Abraham last summer when we reached the Premier League?

Warnock has spent enough to have a better and more balanced squad. Im guessing it was his choice to go without the loans.

Warnock said we asked about Abraham last season. Either he or Chelsea didn't want him at City. Can't blame them, if I was Chelsea I'd rather him in the championship scoring goals and improving than chasing long balls up dead ends at Cardiff in the prem.

Top clubs do not want their youngsters playing in the Uber direct Warnock style (trying to be polite). How many other teams give away nearly 80% possession at home and still use the long throw?
Would you honestly loan us anyone?
