Next 5 games

Sat Aug 31, 2019 2:26 pm

How many pts do u think we'll pick up in the next 5 games before the October international break? Im hoping we come back stronger and more clinical and hopefully will only improve with Etheridge, Bamba, Pack, NML and Paterson more fit and hopefully a few available.

Derby (A) 1pt
Middlesbrough (H) 3pts
Hull (A) 3pts
QPR (H) 3pts
West Brom (A) 0 pts

10 pts from 15. Maybe im being a bit to optimistic I don't know :laughing6:

On our performances i don't see 10 points and if etheridge bamba etc back still dont. I would say 6 to 7 maximum would love to be wrong on this

Re: Next 5 games

Sat Aug 31, 2019 3:32 pm

In my opinion we should of got 12pts at least from our first 5 games, easiest start on paper I have ever seen for many a year.

So going by how we are currently playing I will say 7pts from our next 5 games.

Re: Next 5 games

Sat Aug 31, 2019 3:37 pm

I would settle for that but can’t see where enough goals would come from....would be great to take something at West Brom...reckon it will be 7 but we need at least 10 to get some momentum going .

Re: Next 5 games

Sat Aug 31, 2019 4:23 pm

4-7 at most we r so predictable
No goals in team

Re: Next 5 games

Sat Aug 31, 2019 4:26 pm

I can only see 6 at the moment.

And that will put us 15 points behind the top 2 with automatic promotion Hope's dead

No one is taking into account dropping out premier league we all know teams take awhile to re adjust especially with new players In team? Guess after next 5 games it will be let's pack up promotion is dead! I'm not the world's most confident person regarding city at moment but to basically right us off after 5 games is ridiculous we've been poor at times in 1st 5 games but could and should have won 2 more games than we did? and now people say we will win only another 2 at most in next 5 games I'd better cancel st and stop going away as no point watching us lose is there? ......

Re: Next 5 games

Boro score draw, QPR a win, rest losses on this form

Re: Next 5 games

Look at you being all optimistic  I agree it's not written off its looks that way at the moment though !! I preferred the style off play we played last night and if we can play againt the next 5 games like last night I think we should be looking at 10 to 12 points if we go back to what we were doing then i can see us getting half that.
If we do pick up less then 6 points I think it should be the right time for warnock to step down and let prepare for next season I'm sure he will do the right thing there.

Not optimistic but certainly not as pessimistic as the rest on here? :old:

They are just be realistic.

ps - i see your first game was verses Coventry 1967. I think I remember Toshack missing a penalty and it ended up 1-1. Was only a young kid myself.

Just come from watching Brentford and Derby as Griffin Park is only round the corner. Derby were absolutely awful out muscled and out fought completley by a comparatively small Brentford team compared to us.

We go there we win we do it playing to our strengths then we move onto the next.

We will be in the playoff mix for sure after this run of games and we will stay there all season.

Was it as bad as my memory thinks it was? I’m sure he put it wide of the 6 yard box markings - don’t think I’ve ever seen a penalty missed wider in all the years since.

it wasn't pretty when we went up so writing us off so early isn't realistic at all. its much too early..
Norwich had 5 points at this stage last season. Villa who won the play offs had 9 points.
Bournemouth the year they were champions had the same 8 points from the first 6 as we have..

Re: Next 5 games

2 points!

Derby (A) 0 pts

Hull (A) 0 pts
QPR (H) 1 pts
West Brom (A) 0 pts

Should be winning our home games. Hopefully get at least 9. Which when added to the Wednesday after them should see us pick at least the 10 points you need from each 6 game spell to be up in the playoffs. Would be pretty dissapointed if we could t beat Hull away as I don’t rate their squad at all.

Re: Next 5 games

On current form we are probably looking at 6-7points. But hopefully with Pack coming back and a few others getting over recent injuries I am hoping for 9-10 points. The season we went up the international break always killed our momentum and we struggled coming back. I think we really needed this break though and we will definitely come back stronger.

We need to be more clinical for sure or we are looking at mid table at best.

I think we will definitely come back stronger after the break. But from what I’ve seen, I’m still not confident it’s good enough to finish top 6. Performances can only get better though and hopefully we can get a few wins and build some momentum and confidence in the team.

its not that im hugely confident. my point was that the year we went up we really didn't look very good on the eye in many games. had low possession/passing stats and looked much as we do now but for a goal or 2 and a bit more rub of the green.
7 points from those fixtures would put us where Bournemouth were when they won it .
yet people are saying its maybe time to hook Warnock and that level of criticism is being realistic due to what weve seen so far..beat Burton 1 nil and lost to Preston nil 3 in our first 7 games last time in 2 instantly forgettable games { performance wise }. maybe people forgot ?

I agree mate.
Thing is by this time last time we were top of the league (regardless of performances) and some fans will expect nothing less this time.

I think between 4 and 6 points from those fixtures.

Re: Next 5 games

I can't really see any reason why we should improve dramatically in the next few weeks. Their is no outstanding player or players to come back. The first six games tell the story of our season. We are just an average championship side who will finish in mid table and have a Russel Slade type season, our biggest Achilles heal will be a lack of goals from a toothless attack.

At the start of the season I would have predicted we would finish somewhere between third and sixth now I would say somewhere between ninth and twelfth.

1

yes there was a lot of excitement but as I said the performances back then { apart from maybe Villa } were nothing special and Preston away was as bad as anything ive seen this season.
