Trust latest meeting with Jenkins .

Mon Aug 23, 2010 6:33 am

Had an e-mail from the Trust with the summary of the latest meeting with Jenkins , below is the question ans answer regarding the Bellamy deal , do I detect a bit of back pedalling or indeed avoidance of the question by Mr Jenkins ? Did he answer or not ................

Craig Bellamy

We asked Gethin how the club, which has faced winding up orders for non payment of taxes, can now afford a player of the quality, and cost, of Craig Bellamy. He said they are confident the signing stacks up as a business case and that it is underwritten by the Malaysian investors. He reminded us that more than 10,000 shirts were sold immediately after we signed Robbie Fowler and that ticket sales have already increased since Bellamy signed for the Bluebirds.

He is not going to tell us the business details and nor should he, even if we had not signed a confidentiality agreement with Man City, no back peddling there! Just to give you an idea, on the first 3000 shirts sold, just on the lettering alone we have made a profit of around £32,000

We should have signed some-one with a bigger name! :D

Seriously though, those figures are awesome.

I think if Jenkins had said something about the wages , no figures invloved , regarding if it was split between us and Man C then that would have been a suitable answer rather then just say it was a business venture :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The Trust also asked how Green is The Cardiff City Stadium and Also about smaller cheaper things to buy in the club shop. He said we sell rulers and stencils.

Maybe we should get some kind of deal going on the lettered "OLOFINJANA" Shirts..... like a free pie and pint on purchase of one of his shirts ?
