My opinion is very few
IF we could keep Mcnaughton fit I would say he would
Burkey
Chopra
Bellers
I think we could have quite a few squad players but the above would be my 4 defo's - Bothroyd could on his day but may lack consistency

Burke , Chops , Jay , Bellars , Whitts on his day and Taiwo ( OK I lied aout last one !!)

I don't think McPhail could, to be honest. I've never really liked him though so my opinion may be biased.
Current squad (including loans?) Marshall (on a good day), Heaton (backup keeper), McNaughton, Matthews (after a good season of starting regularly with us), Whittingham, Seyi, Drinkwater (He's going to improve massively this season. He's already brilliant at this level), Burkey, Bellers, Bothroyd. Chopra would depend on if he was having a good or a bad day.

IN my opinion Blake, Matthews, McNaughton, Burke, Chops, Bothroyd, Bellamy, Whitts, Koumas and McPhail. Ross could if he stopped pissing it up. Marshall & Heaton might just be good enough. Not sure about Meades/Jarvis.
Hudson, Gypes, Quinn, Rae, Gerrard, Wildig, Taiwo etc are not good enough

Marshall as number 2 keeper
Kev would be ok
Matthews possibly
Koumas if motivated
Seyi as a squad player
Whitts (see Koumas)
Burke would give plenty of Prem full backs problems
Jay would thrive if motivated
Chops as a squad player

Let's think about Saturday's starting 11;
Marshall - is at his level (maybe as back up as mentioned earlier)
Matthews - I believe will be brilliant, in time...yes from me.
Hudson - No
Gyepes - No
Mcnaughton - Yes if consistantly fit
Whittingham - Probably not. Unable to take a man on, goes missing during games. Probably at his level!
Drinkwater - Same as Matthews
Olofinjana - Possibility, seen him play for Wolves...more to come from him I feel
Bellamy - No answer required
Chopra - Tried and tested in the premier league, not good enough.
Bothroyd - Again probably not quite good enough for the premier league.
I feel the squad we currently have is certainly good enough to get us to the promised land. The jury is out on whether they'd keep us there. If Quinn, Rae and McCormack to name a few were replaced with quality then maybe!
That aside this season will probably be the best in memory for most

Lets enjoy this season first!

Yeah I have to agree with the majority. I'd say Bothroyd, McCormack (controversial but when fully fit he has a fully rounded game to cope), Whittingham, Bellamy, McNaughton and Matthews. Not sure about Burke, he goes missing in the big physical games. Marshall as well maybe.

I think if you add 3 CB's to this squad we would stay up. Obviously that includes keeping all loan signings

The best way to judge that would be to note what Premiership clubs have bid for any of our players. Were they Premiership quality we would have seen some by now, wouldn't we?
Tue Aug 24, 2010 12:35 pm
Bellamy, Bothroyd, Burke, McNaughton, Maybe Chopra, Oli, Marshall.
Tue Aug 24, 2010 6:19 pm
has quinn left never mentioned anymore...

Whittingham, Bothroyd, Chopra, McNaughton and Matthews. Of the loan players - Bellamy, Koumas & Seyi. Drinky looks pretty good, looking forward to seeing how he develops!

i know one thing hudson deffo not good enough well he is for blackpool but not the premiership!
Thu Aug 26, 2010 11:56 am
i don't McNaughton would at all. purely because the pace of the Premiership would lead to him getting injured even more often
Koumas, Bellamy, maybe Bothroyd. i think that's about it. possibly Matthews in the future
