Actually Gerry, Merlin is a season ticket holder, so does go to all of the home games, and travels to a fair few away games too.

I think Merlin is wanting us to have an 'anthem' rather than that 'I'll be there' song that doesn't really get the fans going at the start of the game.

yer that ill be there song isnt right for us. i think a welsh song would be good as at least its something that the english wont have. ive always liked this one at wales games and it could apply to us about all our tax problems and us still being here inspite of everything

"I'll be there" is about as good as we'll ever get at CCFC. Men of Harlech would have been excellent but for the effort required to learn the words. We couldn't even manage the chorus. "Swansea slums" seems to be dying out of late and thank God the bridge song hasa been virtualy abandoned. I've always reckoned we should have an official "choir" whereby we could arrange for a greater range of songs to be sung.

Can't open youtube at work (at least not with sound) so I'm unable to hear what it is although I must say, I'm a bit against having a contrived anthem. You'll never walk alone was sung by the fans and crept in, I don't think I'd want the club foisting a particulatr song on us and saying "This is going to be your anthem". I like "I'll be there..." because it's crept in with the fans starting it in the first place

I have to say I am bored sh!tl£$$ of singing swansea songs - i bet they love it that is all we seem to know!

Men of Harlech should be the song AND the club should post the words up as it is being played - they put them up on the big on the screen

Not difficult really (it's done in the millennium stadium for the anthems) and that way fans old & new can sing it loud and proud

It's just one of the song's that makes your neck hair stand up. Would love to replace that current 'la la la' version for the full singy one. Hope it catches in time for the Prem next season.

THE CITY ARE PUSHING THE "I'LL BE THERE SONG" - AND WONT PUSH ANYTHING ELSE - THE OTHERS MAY GET PLAYED TO SING ALONG

I like the way that Liverpool have takne an old Irish folk/rebel song, "The fields of Athan Rye" and changed the words to Fields of Anfield Road.

Would be great if we could maybe have some modern day and simple words to Men of Harlech "Men of Cardiff etc" personally, I'd love it if Jamie Fox could write something like "We are Cardiff City and we're going to Wembley"
