"Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy has revealed striker Andy Keogh is to join Cardiff City.
McCarthy left the Republic of Ireland international out of his side's 2-1 Carling Cup win over Southend on Tuesday so the player is not cup-tied.
"It's a racing certainty that Andy will be going to Cardiff," said McCarthy.
Keogh, 24, will join Bluebirds signings Craig Bellamy, Seyi Olofinjana, Danny Drinkwater, Jason Koumas, Lee Naylor and Tom Heaton in south Wales.
Keogh has scored 49 goals in 180 competitive appearances for Leeds, Scunthorpe, Bury and Premier League Wolves since 2004 and is now set to join the Bluebirds bid to win promotion from the Championship.
McCarthy told Wolves' website: "He didn't want to be cup tied and Cardiff didn't want him to be cup tied and it was a chance for us to give Ashley Hemmings a game [against Southend].

"Andy has been fabulous here both for me and this football club. It's a good move for him to go to Cardiff and good luck to him.
"He wants to play football and doesn't want to be fourth in line here which I can fully understand.
"It was my decision to let him go but he goes with our best wishes and warmest regards."

Carl Correct again. :ayatollah:

Decent signing in my eyes.

Wish we could get a centre back at the club to feel 100% positive about the squad.

Here is Andy in action. First goal is against us

Keogh may have struggled of late with Wolves but he has experience
of playing at the highest level, and has trained with better players day
in day out. If he signs in time I'm putting a few quid on him first goalscorer
against Pompey!

24 years old, at the last chance saloon, but with Bellamy on his case ;)

But PLEASE PLEASE Mr Jones... we need that Centre Half desperately.

Two in fact, unless we're planning to stick Darcy in there again, which would
be a mistake long term. He's just not big enough.

But I'm not complaining, I have every faith in Jones now!!

24 years of age is hardly last chance saloon and unlike McCormack, he appears hungry for football and not pies!

Don't think putting Darcy in at CB would be a mistake long term, as he more than makes up for his lack of height with his timing, his pace, his reading of the game and his willingness to cover behind all of the defence, unlike Hudson who likes to drop too deep and let everybody else pick up attackers and then blame everybody except himself, when we concede a goal!

Not sure Darcy would be good enough if we were to get promoted though, although DJ who is only a short arse himself, had a good career at Everton playing in the centre of defence and Gary Mabbutt who was also only about 5' 10", was one of the best centre backs Tottenham and England have ever had!
