For love nor money, Cardiff City just cannot see games out. That must be a question of either mental fragility or lack of concentration.
Tuesday night's result against Reading represented the Bluebirds' 16th draw in all competitions this season. A quite astounding stat when you think about it really.
That is 16 draws in 35 games, 46 percent of matches ending a stalemate – Tuesday's clash the exception, of course.
Of course many of these games have been earning points rather than throwing away, snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat. But either way a worrying trend has emerged.
Nigh on all of the Bluebirds' matches this season have been nail-biters. Of those 35 matches this season, Cardiff have won by two goals or more only twice.
This team has done it the hard way all season. They haven't walloped three goals in the first half and buried the opposition after the break.
Something has to give. Where is the winning mentality? Where is the take-the-game-by-the-scruff-of-the-neck initiative? Why aren't Cardiff City dominating teams and showing them just what they are capable of? Is the squad good enough to do that, for that matter?
Yes the Championship is a notoriously tough league (is it this year, though?) and cup competitions are always anyone's guess, but why can't the Bluebirds be authoritative and commanding and dominating? It means they always leave themselves open to draws or defeat.
Or in the case of the FA Cup, penalties.
