Another player who is making waves is striker James Waite

Another player who is making waves is striker James Waite, who is on loan at Southern Football League Premier side Weston-super-Mare.

Waite is seriously earning the love and respect of the fans there and in his most recent outing last week, bagged a hat-trick as Weston downed Wimborne Town 5-0 at The Optima Stadium.

It is, remarkably, his second hat-trick for the club, having netted three times against Harrow Borough back in December, and he is really giving the Bluebirds something to think about when he returns.

That hat-trick, incidentally, came after a double just days before against Yate Town and it appears the 20-year-old striker is quickly becoming a fan favourite.

He has bagged 11 goals for the club since moving there back in October and it will be intriguing to see what City do with him when he returns to the Welsh capital this summer.

City will do nothing with him like many before him.

He will come back ho on loan to a league 1 or 2 side . His contract will run out then he will end up at someone like walsall or Mk Don's.

He obviously too good for the southern league though not sure why they let him drop that far it's not great for his development

I remember we did something similar with Earnshaw.
Pretty sure he went somewhere like Greenock Morton for a while in Scotland to toughen him up.
I agree that if he’s in our u23 team we should be looking to get him out to someone in doc 2/3 for the same effect.
It may be that that is his level - as we found out with Rhys Healy - but he may come through with flying colours - as with what happened with Ernie.
Ciaron brown and Coxe have been given (albeit brief) run outs for the first team and a decision was made that they weren’t ready yet. Correctly so imho.
I suppose time will tell

Thing is he is nearly 21 now, im not saying he wont make it everyone develops at their own rate.

Personally id rather see them on loan at this level at a younger age and move up the leagues and get that experience sooner.
