TOMLIN out for up to 2 months
UPDATED:
Cardiff City talisman Lee Tomlin has suffered a serious knee injury in training and will be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
Tomlin, 31, has been in impressive form for Cardiff this term, scoring seven goals and signed a new deal in January.
"We lost Lee late in the week and he will miss six to eight weeks," manager Neil Harris confirmed.
"He has been very good for the last couple of months and now we need other players to step in and perform."
I hear LEE TOMLINS injury is serious.
Bad Knee injury
It could be 4weeks to 8weeks

At the game now. Tomlin walking with a visible limp to his left knee. And he's exactly the change that we need in this game.

playing Ward was as predictable and as ineffdctive as we all would guess. Really dont get Harris, seems to be very narrow minded with selections.

Surely if it was serious he wouldn’t be walking about on it. Just a thought.

Season over we have no one with anywhere near the quality of tomlin that's a massive blow team offers next to nothing going forward with out him

The only player even capable of taking his place is Hoilett.
Maybe a front three of Murphy hoilett and Adomah for the rest of the season

Ralls has to come in and take over. Different style I know but what else can we do.
Sat Feb 22, 2020 7:49 pm
Have to change style, no one can replicate Tomlin.
433 with Ralls Valuks and Bacuna for me.
Murphy, Paterson Adomah or Holiett up front

Let’s be frank here, the season is gone knackered kapput

It proves our squad is simply not good enough to think of promotion when we rely so much on one player to produce 'the magic' this season. It's true, that without Tomlin, our season looks doomed. I would like to think Ralls could make a positive impression on his long awaited return, maybe along side Hoilett, if he could regain his quality of old. However, I have my doubts. I look forward to some fresh faces in the summer transfer window and start again.

Agree with this. We can’t afford to not have a player if Hoilett’s ability in the team every week - unfortunately his lack of pace and requirement to do the defensive side of things, means we don’t get to see the best of him every week. If Tomlin is out, makes sense to have him playing in the Tomlin role as his trickery and ability will give us much more chance then an industrial, hit it long partnership of Patterson and Ward.

That's our play off shout over.

Do you really need to post your opinion twice in the same thread?

That’s our slim chance of a top 6 finish gone then. Literally no creativity in the team without him.
I’d probably stick hoilett in there now.

Massive loss, let's see if Harris can come up with an alternative plan or formation, this is really bad news, he was the main reason for our recent good form!
Mon Feb 24, 2020 10:06 am
Well that's our season well and truly over.

I have to totally agree with this. But true City fans will still be there for every game no matter what happens over the next six or seven matches.
Yes, we'll whinge and moan if we go back to pre Tomlin football, and the forthcoming results might not be to the liking of our growing number of fans who only come when we're winning.
Unfortunately I don't see us getting much from the next half a dozen games without the class and quality of Lee Tomlin.
I hope I get proved wrong.

I don't think there was anything wrong with playing Patterson and Ward as a front two. Problem was on Saturday the service to them was very poor and neither had a good game. Don't think there is any front combination that works very well without Tomlin. Did think Glatzel was more effective than Ward when he came on. I also thought Murphy was indifferent, presumably there was no Celtic scout at the match, when Hoilett came on he was worse than Murphy his first two crosses went out for goal kicks.
If there is such a thing as a one man team we are it.

Can't see us making the playoffs unless ralls comes in and steps up ?

No,you haven't offended me,just curious as to why you have made the same observation twice? Stop getting your knickers in a knot ffs! We all know tomlin has been immense for us, no need to keep pointing it out, nothing more nothing less.we get the point.
