I was on the phone to them yesterday waiting 45 minutes. Then they cut me off. Probably decided if they don't do this they'll lose 90% of their business, they must be haemorrhaging subscribers. This way at least they keep them even if they have to take a financial hit.

This is all that I found

Sky have confirmed customers can now pause their sports subscriptions as a result of the significantly reduced coverage on their platforms due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Schedules have been drastically impacted of late, with sporting fixtures and events around the world being postponed and cancelled due to the pandemic.

Sky and BT Sport previously revealed they would not be refunding customers who were missing out on their usual bumper sports packages.

But on Tuesday, Sky announced that subscribers to their sports channels can now pause their subscriptions without charge.

A statement from Sky read: "While we expect that many of the recently postponed sports events will eventually go ahead, if you wish to pause your sports subscription in the meantime you will not be charged a fee to do so or be held to any notice period.

"Meanwhile we continue to provide high quality content across all of our 11 sports channels."

BT Sport are yet to confirm whether or not they will follow suit.

A BT spokesperson had previously said: “We apologise to customers about the changes to the BT Sport schedule this month due to the impact of Covid-19. The situation is evolving rapidly and we are working with the leagues to continue to broadcast live sport wherever possible and broadcast games when they are rescheduled over the coming months.

“We will continue to broadcast a wide range of BT Sport content including films and documentaries and we will update our customers as we have a clearer view of the remainder of the season.”

Sky, otherwise, to continue to operate as normal. And if there is upcoming programming you would like to catch without being tied down to a contract, you can access their eleven sports channels on an ad hoc basis using a Now TV Sports Pass.
