Whilst I don't think we will reach as many as italy/Spain I agree why can't we keep fit at home instead. No reason to run in the streets. Only reason I come into contact with anyone is going to get shopping

It won't be long before shoppers are slagged off as well. Provided you stick to the guidelines which are go for a walk alone or with a member of your household, keep at least 2m away from other people and only walk in your local vicinity.

I would agree that runners and bicycles should be banned as they cause problems of getting in the way and it can be hard to avoid them.

Yes, but they would have to have the virus and sneeze/cough in your face. That’s why the Government allows it.

A 13-year-old boy from London has died after testing positive for coronavirus, King's College Hospital has said.

"Sadly, a 13-year old boy who tested positive for Covid-19 has passed away, and our thoughts and condolences are with the family at this time," a spokesman for the hospital said.

Annis how tough is the Spanish lock down? I'm sure I heard on the news that only in the last few days had they stopped people going to work?

Luke,

17 days ago all shops except food shops were closed plus bars/ restaurants etc / 99% of flights were grounded / only key workers were allowed to work.

You are not allowed out for a walk it was 200euro fine, new law now 600euro, 2nd offence 2,000 euros, if you don’t pay they take car , take you to cash point or your house.

You have to either paper work on you or prescriptions or bags for food and they follow many.

It was zero tolerance .

Now it’s even worse as a lot of called key workers have been stopped from working unless it’s more than essential, that was the new law from Monday just gone.

I have been out 4 times for food in 17 days and was told to keep walking and don’t stop till your home by the Guardia Civil.

You actually don’t want to go out one because it’s right not to, but you feel you will be done by the police big time.

Our streets are deserted and I am glad.

I live up in the hills and can see the whole of Santa Ponsa it’s worse than a ghost town.

We are beating the virus in Mallorca :thumbright:

It’s mainland Spain where other countries like Italia have been able to go through that are in serious trouble and out of control.

I sadly see it happening in the UK as Boris to soft and police to soft.

We will all come out if this virus but sadly to many will have died

What's happened so far today?

here are some of today's main headlines...

Spain has recorded a record daily death toll of 864, meaning more than 9,000 people have died in the country as a result of coronavirus

Iran's death toll has passed 3,000, after 138 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours

There are now more than 800,000 confirmed cases around the world

The lack of tests for coronavirus in the UK has become a political problem, says BBC political editor Laura Kuenssberg

Unlike Italy their infection rate remains static and is now comparable in totals with Italy. The UK has a population 50% larger than Spain and there's no reason why it shouldn't be 50% worse here. They need to shut the big cities down completely and leave the transport systems purely for the essential workers.
