of having to sign in every time I visit.
Can it be sorted please Owain?
Anyone else have the same problem?
One other thing too mate, not a complaint, just an observation really.
When I click the back button when reading a thread, I go back to the main general chat page as it was. On other sites where I click the back button, I go to a refreshed/up-dated general chat/main page. I hope this makes sense? Anyone else noticed lads/lasses?
Cheers Owain.

The point of the back button, is to take you back to the previous page, which it does. You should click on General Chat (either at the top of the screen or at the bottom) that way it refreshes the main screen with all new posts that have been posted in the meantime, and changes the colour of the icon to show that you have read all posts in the thread that you were in.

Lol, thanks for that Claire. I have been using the internet forums for twelve years now. It's just me being lazy. When I say back button it's the one on the mouse, not on the screen. What happens on most forums is that when you click back it takes you back to browsing an up to the minute board. For some reason this board does not do that?
Say I click on a thread, I start reading it and don't want to read it all, I either have to click back and then refresh, or scroll to the end of the thread and return to the message board. Most, (if not all) other sites will return to a refreshed page just by clicking the back button. Hope this makes sense?
Sorry for the confusion caused.

Does it happen every time? Can't say I've ever seen it happen before, with me it works fine when I press the back button.
As for the logging out issues, it's because we've changed the domain, so I had to change the cookie settings-which keeps you logged in etc.
Are you all ticking the 'keep me logged in' box when you log in?
Sun Aug 29, 2010 9:22 pm
My log in is fine Owain
Its just this "back" issue lol

Are you using Internet explorer 7?
Also, is it when you use search/new posts rather than the main page?
I've had a little look, and there are quite a few reports of the same problem, without a fix. It sounds as if it's a problem with internet explorer 7 only, so if you updated or tried a different browser (Google Chrome, Firefox etc) it should work.

Im using firefox still have to log in every visit

Hi Owain, I'm using Chrome on Windows XP and still if I were to click back,(from here)I would go back to the main chat page but as it was when I left it. In other words, anything that has been posted since I have been typing this would not be shown. Therefore it is not taking me to a refreshed main chat page? I hope you can understand what I am trying to convey? Go on another forum (Mikes for instance) and you will see. If you click on a thread there and read, then click back, the board is refreshed with any new posts showing.
Like I have mentioned before, not a complaint as such, more of an observation.
BTW, this site seems a little faster since you have changed server. Nice one.

I understand what you're saying, but I woudln't expect it to refresh to be honest.
Whenever I press the back button on any other sites I don't think it refreshes. The point of the back button is to go back to the page you were on, which is normally in the same state as it was in.
I know it's easier pressing back, but I just press 'general chat' if I want to go to the updated page, or back if I want to go back to how it was, and carry on reading from where I left of (if that makes sense!)
If I press back on mike's board, it doesn't refresh for me, unless it's something to do with your settings?

Thanks for the reply. Strange though, just tried again on MM's and it went to a refreshed page? Same settings as here (using cookies etc) I have looked the the user control panel too, nothing obvious there either?
Strange?
